Things have been really really tough for my family and me, but the last two weeks I have made a point of it to focus on the positives in my life and I am already starting to feel emotionally and physically better. That doesn't mean that the tough times have just gone away, unfortunately they are still happening but I believe they will get better and all the amazing good things will become bigger and more important!
Wake up, think of all the wonderful people and all the privileges you have. It makes a huge difference to the way your day goes and even if your day doesn't go well, don't stop focussing on the positives, have a little cry or a tiny tantrum, but get up again and smile, but really smile, mean it with all you have inside of you. Put a good thought behind your smile and you will start to see and feel a noticeable difference in the way YOU handle or perceive your circumstances/situation. This is not a quick fix, but it does slowly heal the wounds you have, and starts to sooth the pain you feel. Stay strong, and treat people (friends, family AND strangers) with compassion, consideration, joy and love, you know, the way you would want people to treat you, and you personally will feel much better on the inside, because that is where your happiness lies, on the inside of you, not in your stuff or other people, you determine your own happiness. It's there, even if you can't feel it, your happiness is there inside of you, just allow it to grow.
