Who is my favorite Director?!?!So I got an assignment for my directing class which should be pretty easy. Write a brief bio for your favorite director and some other stuff blah blah blah. Only problem is that I don't think i have a favorite director. Is that horrible for a film student to say? I really don't know how to answer this because I really never got into remembering directors of movies because I always considered it semi-useless information. I just judged a movie on whether it is good or not. Not whether it is good because a certain director filmed it. It also doesn't help that I feel like I have seen the least amount of movies out of anyone in my school.
I dont get how people can have so much time ...

I dont get how people can have so much time to watch all of these movies. I guess watching all of Star Trek: TNG in less that a year set me back a little bit. I could probably name about less than 10% of the directors of movies I watch because like i said earlier. I didnt think it was important. Not I know all of these people who know all of these key crew members for films That I didnt even know existes and I feel so bad about my self.
Back to the original Question. Who is my favorite director?
Joss Whedon is pretty far up there with Firefly/Sereni
ty, and The Avenger, Buffy, and countless other that I haven't seen. But I feel like that might be a little bit of a cop out because I didnt join the Whedon bandwagon until a few years ago.
I almost want to put Burnie Burns as my favorite director because he was the most influential director to me. Red vs Blue is the whole reason I got into Film making and without him there is now RvB. Sad thing is that I dont think my teacher wants a director for an Animated series even though Machinima is closer to live action film making than animation.
Edgar Wright is a really huge influence but I already heard one of my fiends say that they were using him for their report. If all else fails I will most likely choose him because I feel like I understand his directing style more than Joss. Ill keep Burnie Burns in mind though.
