The Last Journal Was A Week Ago?!God damn, you people
straight up don't give two flying shits need to know what's going on!
First off, I've been back at home for nearly three weeks now. And I can just say the following about my niece: she is
the most adorable little thing you could ever lay eyes on. Almost like a Gerber baby, but she's getting a little older (2 months as of this 18th!) so her face doesn't look as Gerber-ish. Sounds like she's also getting advanced for her age: she can start smiling at us (the cute is too much to handle here) and my sister claims she's learning how to take the soother out of her mouth with her hands. Secondly, been job searching for quite a bit. Had an interview at one Employment Ontario two weeks ago, now I got another Provincial government interview next Wednesday. This time it's for Ministry of Finance, so I'd probably be dealing with tax forms and all that collection jazz if I land a job there. Otherwise, it's a matter of
convincing myself to go and hand out resumes wherever possible.
Hobbies are doing real well, too. Got back into karate; my Sensai's been telling me that, if I stick around enough this summer, I'll be eligible for a grading before I go back to school, which means I'll finally get a Green Belt! Gardening is going real great: we expanded the garden and even got a rain barrel set up so we don't have to rely on the hose as much. Tilled the garden, had fun with that, just a few more days left until May 24, last possible day for frost.
Brewing is going to have to take a backseat for quite a while, simply because of the fact that I need to have a job to get the money. My mom took me out to a beer-testing thing out in Toronto, which was pretty awesome (they even had a pineapple ale, though I really loved the cider they had there). Still want to give it a shot, but it's taking some time for sure.
I'd say the hardest part, though, is connecting and re-connecting with friends and new people. Still trying to get a hold of one of my buddies and don't really hear from others much, besides reading a thing here or there from facebook. Tried out online dating by chance... really doesn't feel like it's helping me much at all.
So yeah, a lot has happened since I got home, and a lot more is going to happen in the near future. Hopefully, things will start to improve!
