Raging on RAGE.So as I said, I was returning to my reviewing ways since so many people demanded it. I wanted to start with a game that I was really on the fence about when it came out and decided to pick it up used to see whether or not it lived up. Raging on RAGE.So as I said, I was returning to my reviewing ways since so many people demanded it. I wanted to start with a game that I was really on the fence about when it came out and decided to pick it up used to see whether or not it lived up. RAGE is a first person shooter set in......wait for it.....a post apocalyptic open world with plenty of ghoulish things to shoot at. The game was made by Id, makers of Quake and Doom, as well as a hand from Bethesda, the makers of the Elder Scrolls series and Fallout 3. Maybe it was a mistake to play Borderlands at the same time because it really made what was wrong with rage really stand out. Rage is basically two different games that didn't really mesh together very well. Take Id, they make beautiful games. They are know however for their limited space when it comes to environments. Then you bring in Bethesda who is know for the largest environments know to gaming. It feels more like an RPG where you can free explore and complete quests in the wasteland but to progress the story, you have to venture into dungeons so to speak. It felt like the two developers didn't quite see eye to eye on what they wanted to do. I never even finished it because the clash of styles bothered me so much. On the plus side, it is by far the most beautiful game I've seen on the Xbox so that works in its favor. I guess there wasn't much raging as there was uncomfortable rambling. Till next time.
