About Me? I have lived in a particularly boring town for about 15 years. I went to school for a while to get a degree in art. Then I went to school for a while to be a mechanic. I only have one more semester left to get my associates degree of automotive technology. I am in the Army National Guard, where I started out an all wheeled vehicle mechanic (63B), and I am now a truck driver (88M.) I worked 7 years at a recreational bird hatchery, but just recently quit to be an assistant brick layer.
i dont have much free time recently, but when I do have it, I spend it watching TV and Movies, playing videogames.

A great Annual Training.
My unit went to Camp Dodge, Iowa for our 2008 Annual Training. It was my first AT, and I loved it. My unit is made up of 3 platoons, the Logistics Specialists (Suply guys), the Water Purification Specialists, and my platoon, the Truck Drivers. As is common in the military, all the platoons of my unit are very competitive, and there is alway yelling of "Our platoon is more important than your platoon" and "You platoon cant do anything without out platoon." I never really get into all that, but I know for a fact that my truck driver platoon had a hell of a lot more fun than the other 2 platoons. In my opinion, even driving on paed roads short distances, in the larger military vehicles is more fun than doing inventory on supplies, or purifiying water. Add to that, the couple of days that we were driving HEMTTs and FMTVs thru the mud and water, and we had guys from other platoons saying they wanted to change jobs.

On one day, we were going to drive a Heavy Expanded Medium Tactical Truck (HEMTT) into a large puddle, and try to get it stuck so that we could get some expierience on vehicle recovery. We were going to take turns, changing drivers, and get everyone a chance to get the HEMTT stuck. However, the puddle they had chosen for us was meant to only be used for this type of training with larger, heavier, tracked vehicles. I was the first to drive. I didnt make it half way thru the puddle (rather small pond) before I became completely stuck. The water level was above the bottom of the driverside window, and was pouring in thru the window handle and the gear shifter. They hooked up the other HEMTT we were using as a recovery vehicle, but before we could try to pull my vehicle out, it died, and wouldnt restart. For that deep of water, you cant use a HEMTT to recover another one that is dead. So me and my codriver sat in the vehicle as it filled with water while we waited for the M88 tracked recovery vehicle to come get us. Because we were part way in a rut, the vehicle was tilted to the driver side, and only the drivers side was filling with water. I crawled up onto the middle console and waited for a while. When the codriver and I decided to exit the vehicle, the driver seat, 2/3 of the steering wheel, and half the instrument panel, was completely submerged. We crawled out the passenger window and walked across the top of the vehicle, to the rear, where the co-driver crawled across someone standing waist deep in water because she didnt want to get wet. I waited for the recovery vehicle to get there before jumping to dry ground. The M88 pulled it out like nothing.

Because I volunteerd for just about everything while at AT, I recieved a Command Sergeant Major Coin, a Colonels Coin, and an Army Achievment Award.

And, as a final surprise, we were leaving via Des Moines International Airport at the same time as a large number of WWE Smackdown Superstars, who had filmed Smackdown the night before. I admit I havent been a wrestling fan for several years, but it was still awesome to meet them and get my picture taken with them. I had gotten about 12 pictures, but only 5 of them came out. Luckily, the one I wanted the most, me with Mick Foley, came out good. I got to meet Mick Foley, Kane, Undertaker, Mark Henry, Edge, Shelton Bejamin, Sergeant Slaughter, MVP, The Big Show, Matt Hardy, a few of the Divas, and about 6 others that I dont know. They were all friendly (except maybe 2 or 3) given they had just done a show and had to wake up so early to get on the plane.

I have never written a journal this long, if you read it all, thanks!
