Whose Game is it?I think I've finally solidified some of my opinions on the Ender's Game movie.
It wasn't bad. In fact, it was actually pretty good. And that's probably one of the biggest fault the movie has. If it had been terrible, or even mediocre, I would be less heart-broken. But no, the parts that were done really well (i.e. anything with Harrison Ford as Colonel Graff) only served to show how much better a deft hand at directing could've done some of those scenes.
They cut characters and rushed through plot to get the main story arc to fit, but in their mad dash to finish, they left behind character development and the emotions tied to it.
Maybe the expectations I had were too great. But I can't help but feel that Gavin Hood would be one of those people that only saw Ender as a weapon to be used, and not a human being.
