Riot!Have you seen the riots? I have, and not always on the telly. Fucking madness I tell ye. I haven't been setting fires or looting though....I'm a good boy....honest.
In other news I'm inching ever closer to a job with The Creative Assembly, the studio who makes the Total War series. REALLY hoping I get it as I've been playing their games for years and working there would do wonders for my future career.
I've also been getting more and more into smoking. I went cold turkey on cigarettes about ohhhh....5 years ago, but still had the occasional cigar. My trip to the Cayman Islands at New Year resulted in me and my brother enjoying a Cuban cigar each, which then resulted in us bringing several Cuban cigars home. Montecristo's were about $10 each and are about £15-20 over here. Just over half a year later and I still have 2 from that trip, and we've both added to our respective collections including some very nice looking limited edition cigars. Ed bought me a humidor for my birthday which is going to good use.
As a result of riot-induced hysteria I went a bit mad and bought a pipe and some tobacco recently. Had a few smokes now and it's got a very different taste and feel to cigars, but it feels right. I doubt I'll be smoking a pipe outside anytime soon unless I want to be lynched, but it's nice to relax with at home. I've always been an old man trapped inside a young idiot and this is a great way to exercise my inner git. Ed's taken to recycling his old cigar ends as pipe tobacco in the style of Winston Churchill and actually doesn't like regular pipe tobacco. More for me I guess.
It's getting to be an expensive hobby, but it helps that my Aunt enjoys a cigar now and then...as she's now taking us to Cuba for a couple of weeks at the end of the year. Hopefully we'll go diving as well, but in any case it should be a great way to end the year. Speaking of holidays my mum is currently enjoying the Cayman sun again...she was taken out to New York by my Aunt for a week, then to Cayman for 2, and will be going back to NY for another 2. All of which means that I've got to stay at hers to look after all of the dogs.
And just after I got my secure tenancy on my council flat. End of update.
