Hi there guy's... 1'st of all i am so happy right now 'Cause i was just able to finely become a first member to the show.. and 2nd.! this going to sound a little ( cryptic.) but don't listen to what other people say about you OK..!! 'cause people are just so used to having so much negatively.! in their live.. when someone leaves.! or rights negatively or bad comets about you or someone. don't think of it as a bad thing but think of it as a positive..! why.?? well let me put to you in another way for you's OK.!! it's like (Thomas A. Edison said about trying I have not failed. you just found 10,000 ways that won't work so just try, try, try & just don't stop trying.) witch mean's that they took the the time to right some think to you..! where ever it's bad or not.!!! and you's are this.... I AM that I AM – and it’s enough. "because you have become a beacon of light not from your looks.!! but from how warm your Heart and smile is when you just smile at someone... like i said this sounds a little Cryptic.! but it's the Honest truth. so too.! Barbara,Texas and the rest of the Rooster Teeth crew have a great Weekend and just keep smiling no matter what anyone says...!

As a person who got into Pro Wrestling. We are told to never listen to what people say who aren't in your line of work. Everybody has an different opinion of something. You do you the best you can with in the rules and laws. Either way your going to get shit and hated on by people for doing the right thing and doing the wrong thing.

I remember getting done with my first wrestling match. I was horrified by what the crowd was saying to me. As I walk behind the curtain, I remember seeing other wrestlers there clapping for me an praising me on my first match. Then as I walk into the locker room, I had like a epiphany hit me. I said to myself "Just as long as I go out there and do my best and do my job, who cares what others say. I am my own key."

If you wouldn't mind my asking, what promotion are you a part of? I've always been a fan of wrestling since I was young and find it interesting how similar it is to the combinations of good acting and performance. Movies like The Wrestler or the RT doc, I think, show a more truthful look into the business, and how the wrestlers are continually working off each other and supporting each other while they portray their characters for their fans. Also I feel your performance and fan likability/hate definitely are connected to how much you get into your character and how well you pull it off as well as your in ring skill. If you are still green in the ring, it is much harder to win over fans than a tried and true wrestler, but if you practice and train what you do, like any profession, I'm sure that fans will be as supportive as others who understand the business.

It would be a lot easier to say that I went on independent circuits in Ohio. Our gym/school's owner either ran his own events or we teamed up with other gym's an hold events. Some of the circuits were ran by people who were involved with a curtain indie circuit (I can't get into due to legal reasons). I no longer wrestle, I did for about a year in total in 2008-2009.

The RT Doc and The Wrestler does an good job on what it is like (kind of). If you or anybody else want to know the real truth about the whole "wrestling circle" I will talk about it . But trust me will ruin everything that you come to think about the business.

Say the least, for all the good times and bad times, it was all worth it going out there and having the crowd react to what I did for the show, there is nothing like that feeling. I really did enjoy the learning experience.

Geoff's perspective made sense; I hadn't really seen it that way but it's an efficient way to look at it (for lack of a better word?). There's a lot of people I look up to--Geoff, Barbara, pretty much everyone in RoosterTeeth who's appeared in a video, and there are other people of course--and I don't want to think that it's just me needing a role model/distraction/someone to admire from afar. I mean yeah, my supporting their content helps them pay their bills, and I'm more than happy to, but I'd want to give more. But like they mentioned, so many people feel the same way.

Idk, there's a lot of thoughts I have on that but it's all a jumble. I liked hearing Geoff's perspective though; I was really fascinated listening to it.

And man, since I was born I've cared about what people think of me; it's just now I've been able to limit it...somewhat...to a degree. Simple things like not caring if the people on the train can hear the faint strains of Kpop coming from my earbuds. It's definitely been a problem; I'd get so fixated on making people like me, and keep them that way, and when things don't seem to go perfectly I either break inward or lash outward. When people do stick around, yes, impostor syndrome comes around. I know that I don't need to try too hard to keep my friends around, and sometimes friends outgrow each other or drift in and out of communicating, but the anxiety creeps in a lot. I'm still young as people remind me a lot, so I know I just have to work on that balance.

I'm definitely someone who cares about people's opinions of me, to a fault. I've definitely recently developed the mindset that Barbara was talking about as well, with putting in effort and if it's not working, to just let it go. It's hard, but it's such a good way to think, in all honesty.

Like it's to a point where I get nervous even if I HAPPEN to run into someone. Like at a convention, I was pretty active in Nebraska when the RWBY team was there, and ran into them a lot off-panel and also was there for that and I was TERRIFIED of being disliked by any of the other people who happened to be at those panels as well. But then I realized, it didn't matter and once I realized that, I was able to relax and made a friend out of it.

It's a surreal experience for sure though. I'm still in college, so I'm not "in" the industry in the slightest yet, but I have my big dreams and even as just a fanfic writer and cosplayer, it's such a weird experience for me to be recognized for any work, be it online or in person. It rarely happens and it blows me away, so I can barely even begin to imagine what it must be like for everyone at Rooster Teeth, or in other companies in the industry.

In being someone who doesn't tend to care much what strangers think of me, I have found that the people who seem to care the most about what others think are the same people who see every other person as a positive interaction until they are given a reason to be proven otherwise.

When I meet new people (and I'm not just talking random strangers in public places, but also coworkers, friends of friends, etc), my initial opinion almost always ranges from tepidly neutral to assuming that I will outright dislike them--until they prove themselves likable. It's not even that I don't like people--I actually am highly extroverted, have an extensive social circle, and find that one of the best feelings in life is being able to make someone you've only just met laugh--but I still generally find that I have to be given a reason to like someone before I view them positively, whereas if I'm given a reason to dislike them, it just reinforces that I probably wouldn't have liked them that much to begin with.

If you need an easy metaphor to conceptualize it, when it comes to meeting people, I'm more of a cat than a dog. Not the kind of cat that hides or runs away, one of the ones that stays juuuust out of reach until I see reason to get closer to you. And I'm certainly not going to excitedly bound up to you immediately like an eager golden retriever.

That said, I do tend to care about what people I deeply care about think of me, and, while I have impostor syndrome and occasional battles with self-worth, it's rarely coming from the feeling that others are judging me--it's my own expectations for myself weighing on me.

Barb talking about people meeting people they look up to basically sums up the time I met Geoff last year. During high school the Blood Gulch Box set was pretty much the only thing that made me smile. Now RT as a whole gets me through the day to day bs from work and beyond.

It's funny how they talk about "actual celebrities" as though they're worlds apart. To me, and I guess most of the users on here, the RT staff are as famous as the people they're calling real celebrities.

I've just been to RTX London, and getting to sit at a panel or a show and see Burnie or Barbara in person, or to see Geoff and Gus in the distance on the main stage playing Mario Kart, is super exciting, just because it's actually them, and not an image on a screen. Getting to say hello and to shake Burnie and Matt's hands at the autograph signing is an actual life highlight for me.

I didn't have the guts to strike up a conversation with any of the staff at the VIP after party, and even after leaving the venue, and passing Geoff on the street, I still didn't have the courage to say hello to him, or to thank him for all that he's done. - But at the same time, it was cool to just wander around a pub, and be like "Oh, there's Michael." or Burnie, or Matt, or Joel. etc. etc. - and if that doesn't make you "famous", then I don't know what does! lol.

I think that some of the staff need to understand that they mean a lot of things to a lot of people, and to their fans at least (to use a quote from Geoff) they are "actually talented, celebrity people".

Geoff, like Michael, out of context might seem to be someone who might be a giant, mean, asshole kind of guy, with all his tattoos, military experience, previous alcoholism, and sort of self proclaiming asshole from rural Alabama, but he is definitely one of the kindest, most caring  and genuine individuals I've seen and as much as he hates it, embodies his hufflepuff identity like Jack. Also as much as you all feel like you don't deserve the fame and attention that you get, you definitely wear it very well. I had the oppurtunity to meet Barbara, Kerry, Gray, and Jordan the last C2E2 I attended and because of my bad anxiety problems had trouble actually coming up and holding a conversation, but they were incredibly nice and signed my RT Chicago shirt and took photos and after going to the con every year, definitely made the weekend for me. Everytime that I see you all in person, be it let's play live, or at a con, it has genuinly been one of the best times that I have had and I  do hope to see you come to Chicago a lot more. And I know you all probably hear this a lot, but you and your content have been part of why I am even still here today, after I have been continually dealing with anxiety and depressive and suicidal thoughts/feelings for a long time. And thus have gotten me to be a first member for years and a fan since way back to the beginings of fails of the weak. I even based my semester project in one of my courses on RT and the RT Community. I hope you continue to create great content and just have fun, and like how Burnie has mentioned in multiple interviews, that the content you make is something that you yourselves would want to watch and laugh at, and create that great atmosphere between personalities that you have cultivated, where everyone are actually good friends.

Geoff, if I wanted to be a fan of anyone else in the world, I could do that. There's tons of people out there doing tons of great things, but its because of what RT is that I continue to be a fan. It's because of what you've done for RT and AH that matters, and most importantly how its affected all of us. Whether you think its undeserving or fake or however it makes you feel when you're at RTX or getting spotted in public, you've put in the work, and you deserve every bit of greatness it brings to your life. Keep on doing what you do.

well it obviously depends on who and what they think about me. I don't really care if someone doesn't like me based off my personality but that doesn't mean I do whatever I want carelessly in public. I don't pick my toenails or chew gum with my mouth open because I still want to be courteous and have some dignity at least. And when you get bombarded with compliments and gratuity it becomes overwhelming and harder to really appreciate it.

Hey Barbara, I don't have any kind of amazing story to share or moment that inspired or changed me that relates to RT or yourself, but I just want to let you know that I completely sympathize with what you feel about trying to get people to like you, and feeling overwhelmed and unworthy of the attention you receive. I struggled with self-confidence for a really long time, felt like the world would be a nicer place without me in it for a while, but I eventually came across people that I cared about and who cared about me that kept me going. Barbara, you might not see this comment but if you do please always do your best to remember that you are an amazing, excellent, and generous person. Even if you don't feel that way about yourself all the time, that's normal. You are awesome. Period. It shows from your modesty. That isn't something that anyone can fake.

You are an inspiration to so many people and those that don't like you, have one of three things, they caught you on a bad day, they are jealous of you, or they simply are being stubborn and trying not to like you to spite it. It makes a lot of sense that Geoff doesn't feel that "imposter syndrome". He worked for years with the other founders to build Rooster Teeth from the ground up. And then he worked to create Achievement Hunter, and all the revenue and views that comes with that subdivision of Rooster Teeth. Based on those two things, he deserves all the success he has.

But imposter syndrome generally means that, despite you having earned your position (and "success"), you still feel like you don't deserve to be at the place you are. It's common in academia (my experience of it) where even people doing PhDs still feel like they are gonna "get caught", even though they have it in writing (degrees/diplomas and such) that they are qualified for their position.

Not feeling like an imposter comes from a good heap of self belief, I think.

Eventually, many of us learn that we cannot control anyone. If someone doesn't like us as we are, there's nothing we can really do about it.

Still, there's no denying that there are a few people that I wonder what I've done to deserve their dislike, but there's wondering and dwelling. I've moved on, but that curiosity nags at me at times.

As one who's never been able to break the whole "don't touch me" thing (and I've really tried - I just can't do it and I'm not trying anymore), I would choose being left alone over being liked if I had to make that choice. That doesn't mean being disliked. It just means I'd prefer being invisible (which is why I'm still in IT - a thankless, invisible job where people only see you when something goes wrong).

What do we have to do to see more Geoff on the show? I loved the stark contrast between a normal episode and this one. Not that I dislike the traditional vibe of the show. But Geoff managed to keep everything very grounded and serious and real.

10/10 can relate, every achievement I've reached/made happen, whether it was school, work, personal life, people would say "hey why are you either so overly humble/acting like you don't deserve it". It has taken quite a while before I dealt with that. Can also relate with no longer putting energy in people that don't do the same for me. Which can be hard, but hey that's life sometimes.

I feel like the Halloween into music would work well for Still Open. I have no reason why, just thought.
