    I feel like the Director trusted Wash the most. He implanted his own memory into his head. Even if they aren't technically "up to date", he gave Wash all of his memories of Allison (Tex) and who knows what else. I don't know if they thought of that when they wrote it, but it seems like it would be a tough decision to give someone else your own memories.

    Tex is the Beta, or rather the Director's emotional baggage that took on a personality of her own when Alpha was created.

    @AgentOHIO20

    I don't think they ever say whether Carolina was aware that Tex was created from her mother's memory or not.

    So that means her obsession can be interpreted in 2 ways (that I can think of):

    A - (Unaware) - Her father (the Director) is obviously very hard to please and is very cold and critical towards her, so she wants to be #1 to earn his respect, so she needs to beat Tex (the Director's favorite).

    B - (Aware) - She knows Tex is just a memory of her mother yet the Director is (knowingly) obsessed with her. Seeing as Carolina adored her mother (she speaks of her very fondly in Ep.22) she would consider the "replacement" an insult to her mother so the obsession to beat Tex is more out of revenge for her mother.

    @Sparlan300 (Sorry I'm late) But if what you're saying is true, then that means Carolina would have to have known that Tex was a full AI and also the shadow of her mother seeing as Church refers to her only as "Tex" and not Allison. But... Carolina doesn't know. She just thinks that Tex is another Freelancer with a very angry and very powerful AI fragment.

    Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but that's where I stand.

    Out of all the freelancers, I think Washington suffered the most. Went insane from the A.I., shot in the back, thrown in prison, he's been through utter hell

  • RvBAIDelta

    To clear things up a little.

    Delta = Logic

    Sigma = Creativity/Ambition

    Gamma = Deceipt

    Omega = Rage

    Epsilon = Memory

    Theta = Trust

    Beta = Tex/Allison... a by-product of when the AI's were made. She is a full AI, much like Alpha.

    Connie knew she could trust Tex because all the other freelancers wouldn't be able to keep quiet about it... that's when we find out Tex is Beta. That's why the director is closely attatched to Tex, because she is as close as it gets to Allison... his lover that died.

    Gotta say, I love watching from Washington's POV, it really does add feeling to the scene. He is my favorite character, so this really made my day. It would be great if they'd done that with some other characters in past seasons too, but I'm good with just Wash lol!

  • Sparlan300

    @AgentOHIO20 I think Church might actually have been talking about the real Alison when he said that and not her shadows. Think about it, Alison went through perils, but eventually lost and died, Carolina went though plenty of tough perils herself and she's still standing here right now.

    Carolina's trying to live up to and surpass her mother and Church is trying to point out how the fact that she's made it through things possibly worse than what killed Alison (she did survive the Meta keep in mind), so she already has surpassed her, but that she needs to let go of trying to prove that to her father .

    @Legovil never thought about that makes a lot of sense though

  • AgentOHIO20

    3 years ago

    Agent Carolina is cool and all, but Church saying that if Tex was really the best, she would have been the one to find the director kinda pissed me off. He knows Texas wouldn't be able to do it solely because she was "programmed" (I honestly don't have a better word for it) to never succeed. It's quite depressing really and makes me wonder what the real Allison was like.

  • Sparlan300

    3 years ago

    @Legovil Beta's not an actual copy of Alison, she's based on Church's memories of Alison, that's the problem. Think of Caboose's mental image of Church, while similar to Church, noticeably different (literally always screaming), the same problem is with Beta, she's noticeably different from Alison (for one thing she's much meaner), and the big problem is that his strongest memory of her is her death, so Tex is doomed to fail at everything she does because she's based on memories of a woman who failed and died. That's what the director is trying to do, he's trying to bring her back right.

  • Legovil

    3 years ago

    Pause the video at 5:25 and you can just make out the word "BETA" and a picture of Allison (also known as Texas or Tex) which means the Tex we know is BETA and therefore I think that BETA is a full AI like ALPHA and I think because ALPHA was a copy of Church, BETA is a copy of Allison.

    OMG something I just realized. Trocadero's "A Girl Named Tex" said that Tex's real name was Beth (this was before they revealed it to be Alison), now we know that our Tex's real name is Beta, which is only one letter off from Beth. Did Burnie choose the name Beta for that reason or is it just happy coincidence?

    could someone please explain to me why church becomes a "full sized" AI again, did he become the alpha again? im confused

  • Perraith

    3 years ago

    I'm confused. Tex and Connie were friends? How come Tex seemed so ready to kill her? And CT didn't have any qualms about putting a knife in Tex' back.

    So now Agent Wash has an AI. Can't help but wonder how much of his mind breaking down we're going to see.

    Two seasons ago we were teased when Tex was telling Church about all the horrible things the Director had done. I wish we could have seen more of what was in that file. maybe the RT guys will put some behind the scenes stuff out to an RvB wikia.
