Chris Cooks Fish

RT Animated Adventures: Chris Cooks Fish

Chris does his best to explain (and defend) his method of cooking fish. It's gross, sure, but mostly just really confusing.

I think Burnie laughing to the point of gasping for air made this one.

On the other hand, Chris, be thankful you mastered (if that's the word) cooking fish. The best I ever did was Spagetti or a tator-tot casserole.

Now there needs to be an RT Life where they go up to a butcher and ask for "sword" just to see the butcher's reaction.

Going with just asking the butcher for fish thing, I was actually at a wendys when one lady came in and without any wait just walked up to the cashier like "I want a burger, fries, and a drink" xD

Well, most places allow you to get your own drink, so telling your cashier what kind of drink is a bit of a moot point.

I use dressing with my fish.
I use this recipe and anyone can do it to see what it tastes like.
Start with raw Salmon fillets, usually 1 to 1/2 per person.
Set Oven to Broil (Low if you need time to prep other dishes, High if you want to speed it up)
~Put some Aluminum foil on baking pan (helps with clean up) and put salmon on the pan.
~Cover first side of Salmon with equal parts Italian Seasoning and Lemon Pepper seasoning.
~Add a few splashes of lemon juice around the edge of the fish to help keep it moist while cooking.
~Drizzle a squiggling line of dressing along the length of the Fillet (I have found Creamy Italian or Ceaser dressing produce best results but Ranch or any creamy dressing could work.)
~(Optional) Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top and pat down with a fork.

Place Salmon in oven once oven is heated.
Wait about 4 to 6 minutes depending on oven used and temperature broiled.
Take Salmon out and flip to other side.

Repeat seasoning process and add more dressing and Parmesan if desired for a stronger flavor.

Place Salmon back in the oven for another 3 to 5 minutes or until done.
To check if Salmon is done, cut the fillet open in the middle and check to see if the meat is still shiny and raw.  It should have the same texture/appearance all the way through.

Let it cool for a minute and then serve with rice.  Let me know what you think.

The theory itself is not exactly wrong, its just un-refined. It would not be that strange to include dressing in a fish marinade. But, not specifying what kind of fish (at least to the point of generic whitefish vs salmon vs tuna) and not caring what kind of dressing is where the issues come in.

Personally, whitefish(cod, haddock, tilapia, perch, walleye, etc.) cooked in melted butter with lemon juice is amazing with some salt and paprika sprinkled on top. Its easy and requires 4 ingredients.

    • KurtMarkuson

Italian dressing is often used as a quick-and-easy marinade. It's got spices for flavour and vinegar to break down connective tissue.

From everything I've seen of him, Chris, like Brandon, does not play a character who's stupid or say dumb stuff for effect. He's genuinely not a very bright guy, and seems to have hung on at RT through good-naturedness and tenure.

Not really interested in fighting the RT thought police, but just wanted to point out that the live action scripts are usually not, let's be honest, exactly brilliant, and Chris neither concepted Day 5 (Burnie did) nor wrote it (Josh did).

That being said, I'm as happy as the next guy that he's around to make RTAAs of.

Chris was also Valedictorian of his high school. he may not have common sense, but he's not dumb.

    • tahupierce FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

@Omnias Dude, he went to a public high school in Texas. Go watch the Social Disorder with Chris at the reunion, listen to the kids there, and tell me valedictorian was any achievement at all. That is, if having to dredge up what he did in high school wasn't proof enough already of a born water-treader.

    • Omnias

ok now you are just being an arrogant prick. the Austin area actually has some of the best high schools in Texas and the nation, such as Westlake and Westwood. Seeing that Austin is a tech hub it should be no surprise that there are very bright people there. You really should not make sweeping generalizations without first hand experience yourself, and there's no need to insult a bunch of people that did nothing wrong to you.

    • tahupierce FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

@Omnias Somehow you not knowing what you're talking about makes me the bad guy. Chris didn't go to school anywhere near Austin, which you would know if you watched the video I used for my "sweeping generalization." Which, of course, was about one specific group of people and what they said and did on camera, and therefore neither sweeping nor generalized.

In fact, he wasn't even valedictorian:

      https://www.reddit.com/r/roosterteeth/comments/3slh8q/chris_was_salutatorian_not_valedictorian/

      Are we done?

    • Omnias

ok, so I got the school wrong, but my point is that there are some very good schools in Texas, and even in lower end schools you can have bright people. Additionally, what we see on video is in part meant to be a bit like a caricature of the person, and there really us no reason to insult these people without even having met them. Even if you have, what good does it do? so you get to feel smug over something meaningless?
