Some cheap tomato ketchup is actually made of carrots mostly, with very few tomatoes, since the latter are much more expensive than the former.

And about the Kyoto-Tokyo debacle: God damn, it's a different language! I don't know Japanese, but in Spanish, if there were a city called, for example, Nueva Ciudad, it would be just as equally valid as Ciudad Nueva; but because of the language. The thing is, in English that just makes no fucking sense. New City would be valid, but City New would be the dumbest fucking name of all time. I would understand if in Japanese it was something similar to my example in Spanish.

That discussion about Japan was so frustrating because Tokyo and Kyoto aren't the same two consonants reserved. Kyoto has a long first o and short second (Kyouto) and means 'Capital City', while both of the o's in Tokyo are long (Toukyou) and means 'East Capital' because the Imperial family moved from Kyoto to Edo in the east, which they then renamed Tokyo

A lot of Nicole Arbours original scandal fame came from dating a member of popular Canadian band, Marianas Trench. She gained a lot of popularity from that fandom simply because it was the first time (in about 6 or 7 years of being a semi-popular band) that any member of Marianas Trench was open about a relationship. She interacted with "trenchers" quite a lot. (She followed me on twitter and tumblr...which is kinda strange in itself when u think of it. Yeah follow one of ur boyfriends 15 year old fans good idea.) She lost Trenchers respect (and ultimately her boyfriends) when she started calling people names over twitter, tumblr, so on so forth. Such as telling people they were fat, ugly, or my personal fave, hoes for wearing bikini underwear with yoga pants.

lmao I just want to say I have no idea why Burnie is so against almond milk in cereal. I LOVE almond milk in cereal, I think it's sweeter and prefer it over cow milk. I've found it depends a lot on the brand though, I've had some almond milk that was pretty awful and the absolute wrong consistency, and others that are delicious. The only thing that animal milk is DEFINITELY better in than almond milk is cooking, almond milk just doesn't have the fat content necessary for creamy pastas and such.

So, for the Titanic bit about the diamond... I thought the point of her telling the story was to discourage them from looking for it. At the end of the movie, the guy leading the search says something to the tune of, "I never got it; I never let it in." He says it in such a way that implies he'll let Titanic and her unfortunate passengers rest, as opposed to continuing to dig around in what's essentially the site of a mass grave.

Presumably, putting those memories to rest is also why Rose throws the diamond away. Still a bit dickish, but not necessarily malicious.

I've been wondering about the ketchup thing also. They make peanut butter, cashew butter and almond butter. So if they specify tomato ketchup, are there other ketchups? Question finally answered.

  • ArrayG

Banana ketchup is common here (Philippines). Folk tale is it came about during or at the end of WW2 because of the lack of tomatoes and the abundance of bananas locally.

I apologise if this has already been commented, but Japanese is my second language and I live in Japan so I feel the need to point out that Tokyo and Kyoto aren't just the same word with the syllables switched around! They actually only share one kanji in common:
東京 = tou kyou = east capital
京都 = kyou to = capital metropolis (or capital. in which case, the city is literally capital capital. yep. it was originally the capital but then they moved it to Tokyo because reasons)

I just realized the less accurate your gps the more you automatically walk in Pokemon Go based on your phone's gps accuracy radius. I just switched to my old 2012 android phone flached with cianagin mod. It can barely run pokemon go and I need to always keep it charging, but it has a 100ft character wandering radius, (within 100ft gps accuracy.) now I just need to drive to Poke Stops/Gyms and I can just sit on a park bench with my 15000mah battery pack and watch my character search for Pokemon, and hatch eggs while I listen to some podcasts.

Carbs turn into glucose, glucose turns into fat. That is why a low carb diet helps lose weight. You don't lose just water weight, you burn fat more efficiently. I've lost 30 pounds in 6 months by consuming a low carb and very low sugar diet. A good documentary to watch on Netflix is Sugar Coated.

Pokemon Go may be dangerous, but my husband and I were be playing and ended up right next to a roll over car crash. My husband is a medic in the military and was able to help the victims of the crash with a med kit that was in our car while we waited for the paramedics to show up. Pokemon Go save lives apparently .

In answer to Gavin's question of, "I wonder what is the most flammable edible substance." Nitroglycerin might be the most flammable edible substance. With an ignition temperature of 50°-60°c or 122°-140°f, and possibly concussion ignition. (I know shipping jostling can ignite, but didn't find whether it was friction or g force pressure that ignites.) In fact depending on the other ingredients used the dynomite, (nitroglycerin's more controllable use), can be wholly edible. Nitroglycerin's most common edible use is in certain heart medications.

Final Fantasy 15 movie probably in my city, or Let's Play Live 75 miles from me. Dilemmas.

What Burnie's saying about liking Star Wars VI after I was released, you see it all the time in the Halo community. I joined the fandom and everyone hated Halo 3. Then Reach came out. Everyone hated Reach and missed Halo 3. Then Halo 4 came out and everyone missed Reach. Now people miss Halo 4's campaign since Halo 5's wasn't too stellar. But when Halo 6 comes out, everyone's gonna be talking about how great 5 was.

The website is dead but can still be found through the internet archive. Here they talk about Circus Peanuts. If you're looking for a good laugh, check out their "My Love" review.
