I still remember 10 years ago, my science teacher told me the difference between the vagina hole and the urethra. It was quite a funny and memorable experience as a 15 year old to have a teacher point at their genitals. If it wasn't for that teacher, I'd probably still believe that I pee out of my vagina hole.

The swapping (stealing) of the wand by Patrick was a d-bag move. If someone is buying a collector wand it's because they more than likely want a collector wand not an interactive one.

I bought my wife one back in February and I told her about what he did and she would have been mad to find that in her box.

Although what maybe worse is everyone's nonchalantness towards the whole thing.

Yeah like if Patrick was actually inappropriately touching women (doesn't have to be in private parts, can be simply unwanted contact), that's absolutely horrendous. And what I find equally as horrendous is Bethany excusing him and reinforcing something like that. That was pretty disgusting to me. As well as Patrick's entitlement to literally steal.

And if it was played up for a joke, definitely still disgusting to joke like that

I agree. That was really hard to listen to. I don't consider myself easily offended or you're stereotypical, entitled "SJW millennial," but that whole story made me furrow my brow. I imagined if my gay friends did that to me. Touched me inappropriately, in public, without my permission. No, that's still not fine. No matter who you are, what your orientation is, etc...it's not fine. Even if it were my boyfriend, still not okay. :/// But I think what disturbed me the most is that she used Patrick's sexual orientation as an excuse...

King Arthur’s existence is debatable. We do not have any contemporary records of him, but there were few contemporary records to begin with. Literacy was limited everywhere, nonetheless in a relative backwater like Britain. And even when records were created, they were regularly destroyed.

King Arthur’s place in history should probably be considered on the level of Romulus and Remus. That is, some elements are real, and some are fabricated. King Arthur himself might have existed, and he might have done some of the things ascribed to him. More likely he is a mishmash of various leaders, and myths from Britain at the time. Though, we can probably agree that King Arthur was not a teenage girl (sorry Japan).

Also, whether intentionally or not, Bethany was partially right on WW2. Vichy France collaborated with Germany. Spain, while not a combatant nation, did assist the Axis powers, and they did consider invading Gibraltar. On top of that, Korea was controlled by the Japanese. In other words, she managed to list everyone but the major combatants. I was half expecting her to mention Norway.

    • Zortack FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

I feel saying France is right is not fair tho, since they didn't really had a choice, it's like saying Poland helped Germany since Auschwitz is in Poland

    • farson135 FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

@Zortack Comparing France to Poland is also not fair. Poland was an occupied nation that received the brunt of the Nazi crimes against humanity. France maintained its government, and collaborated with the German government. The French were not extremely helpful, but they did hand over Jews, gays, and other Nazi targets. Korea, and Poland did not have a choice, since they effectively did not exist. France, well, you could also argue that the German officers who committed war crimes were just following orders, and if they didn’t, they would be locked up or killed.

Choice is a matter of perspective. Those we like, we allow them to say they had no choice. Those we do not like, don’t get that luxury. The French made their choice, what are the lives of a few Jews in comparison to a total occupation of France? We allowed them that excuse.

From a historical perspective, no one is innocent.

    • AmiralPatate FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

France was an occupied nation as well. Roughly two thirds were first occupied by Germany (we're talking Nazi military dictatorship here), and a little bit by Italy. The rest, the Free Zone, was administered by Vichy France. The Free Zone was mostly independent, although not entirely as per the terms of surrender. And in 1942, Germans and Italians decided they had enough of it and occupied the rest.

It's easy to judge decisions that you don't have to make, especially when you don't have to make them at impossible times, nor with the fate of dozens of millions of people hanging in the balance. We certainly don't make excuses for it though, France does recognise the role of the French state in the arrest and deportation of Jews and other people.

    • farson135 FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

@AmiralPatate Let me reiterate from my last line; From a historical perspective, no one is innocent. My family comes from Prussia. It could be argued that Prussia truly began with the 30 Years War. In that war, Prussia was caught in the middle of the great power politics of the day. 50% of the population of the German half of Prussia was wiped out. The horrors of that war influence the later leader of Prussia, the man known as the Great Elector. He vowed that Prussia would never be put into that position again. Fast forward 250 years, Prussia fights a series of three wars, establishing itself as the dominate military power in Europe. After which, Germany is united around Prussia. We also see Bismarck commit acts of cultural genocide against the Poles. Fast forward another 50 years, Hitler is using the memory of the Great Elector, and many other Prussian figures to bolster his fascist agenda. At one time the victim, at the next, a perpetrator.

Prussia did not establish itself as a dominate power solely through diplomacy. Many crimes were committed by my family’s homeland. However, there were at least three occasions where the stated military goal of Prussia’s enemies was the destruction of the Prussian state. Was Prussia in the wrong to fight so hard, and build such a powerful military? What is practical, and what is moral is not necessarily the same thing.

My point is that, I am not judging France. They did what they did. The Vichy Government collaborated with the Nazis, and handed their own people over to be exterminated. They had a choice. Refuse, and let the Nazis take over. Participating in the slaughter of their own citizens was not enough to move most of the people of France to action. That is the history.

We have a term in the study of history called presentism. It is a poor historian who falls into that trap.

I don't care who or what you are, grouping women, like Bethany describes Patrick did, is definition sexual assault. Then playing it off as funny/cool sends a heinous message. Shame on RT.

    • Bassoonist

I agree! Bethany even said that she told the other women to ignore it because he was gay! Why does the fact that he isn't sexually attracted to women give him the right to touch them inappropriately? Especially at a work function.

I apologize as to how this conversation came off. We do not condone sexual harassment, and take it very seriously. Patrick is a good friend and we were all being silly together- he would never intentionally make someone feel uncomfortable. Some of our RT friendships are super close ones and we are all very comfortable together. However, I understand the way we referred to this and discussed it came off as inappropriate, and I personally apologize for that. @CarolinaPanthers704 @Bassoonist

For whatever reason, there are some jobs in the US that pay significantly less per hour, I.e. a server/waitress at restaurant's or pizza drivers (like $3-4 an hour compared to other jobs averaging $7-8 an hour). Tips are to help even out that fact for those workers.

    • deathreaper7291 FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

Its because American companies are cheap bastards, and tips are so that waitresses and waiters can actually make money. Its started out more like a "thanks for being so good" and then it evolved into a almost mandatory thing. I think tipping isnt a bad thing, but companies shouldnt rely on that being the waiters money, or have it like it currently is. It should be something you WANT to do, not something you are guilted into.

the difference between arteries and veins is the size, holy shit people and your blood is always blue, it only turns red outside of your body in an oxygenated environment

    • AnotherSpencer FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

...it's red within the arteries because it carries oxygen to the rest of the body and blue in the veins because it no longer has oxygen.

    • deathreaper7291 FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

Blood is actually always red, veins are the ones that carry blood to your heart to get more oxygen, and since they are oxygen deprived they are a darker red, and through your skin and vein it makes it look almost blue. Arteries carry blood away from your heart to your body, and is oxygen rich. Arteries are stronger/more elastic like because of the pressure of the heart pushing it. Veins are weaker because the blood coming back doesnt have the force behind it, so doesnt need to be as strong.

Also, i might have the veins and arteries backwards, i know what they do, but i always get them backwards or mixed. But thats the gist.
