I've heard Sanshee several times on the podcasts and it didn't ring a bell, but just I remembered it's the same company that sells the legit looking Pokemon gym badges! Sweet. They do have awesome shirts. They had a booth at AX last year.

I know exactly where Gavin is coming from with the whole crying thing. The saddest thing I've ever watched is Clannad and....nothing.

i dont think hank will report walt. if he reports walt walt can take him down with him and i think walt would. He could tell the poice that hank has been so dedicated to the "heisenburg" case because he was trying to cover up walt . Alos like saul says i think in season 3 is that if hank turns walt in say goodbye to his career for not figuring out sooner.

I realize this probably wont get to anyone significant in RT. AND I will probably get a lot of heat for this. But screw it.

Hey, Gavin. You say you haven't ever cried during a movie, I take it it goes for shows too. I know a show. Its an Anime. Its called Clannad. If you watch it, from the beginning starting with "Clannad" (which is a "first season"), then continue onto "Clannad After Story" ("second" season), I guarantee you will cry. And if you don't, you are a very VERY cold hearted human being. Or aren't a human being at all.

Jack is right and Gavin is (unsurprisingly) wrong. If the diameter of the sun in 400 times larger than the moon's then that means that the sun's visible area (which is what matters in this context) is 160,000 times larger than the moon's.

Burnie! Please get around to those Let's Plays you guys keep talking about! It's killing me! Perhaps they could be integrated into a portion of the video podcast? It could be a nice intermission and a system for delivery on a weekly basis.

okay so the hubble pictures aren't "fake" an "artist" didn't color them in, here's what happens. One camera operated from a distance where its motion in space becomes negligible for how far away the objects it takes pictures of are has a camera on it with tons of pixels that pick up information about light,... specifically each one is illuminated over the duration of an exposure to a different intensity that determines which parts of the image are brighter or darker, now to get the color, scientists put filters over successive images of the same region and these colored filters let in light that has a similar "color" or frequency of light as they do, by accounting for which filters let more light through than others and layering successive images of the same region on top of each other in post production giving each one a varying degree of importance scientists can "create" a pretty accurate model of the color in a particular nebula or system of stars. They are not spraying glue on paper and dropping glitter down to see what sticks or photoshopping color in to make an image look pretty, for the most part they are just layering images exposed with different colored filters over the lens

the reason that the earth wasn't destroyed when the moon was created is because the earth was not fully solidified at this time, so it was basically a molten chunk orbiting another molten chunk until they became the earth and moon.

Having worked in strip clubs I can say that there are rules of conduct that really should be followed, and that those rules vary from state to state, county to county, city to city, and club to club.
Always familiarize yourself with the rules of the club upon entering the club, because (as a general rule) bouncers love to toss your ass out--especially after you're broke.
    Other General Rules:
Strippers love you--until you're out of money.
Strippers promise you the moon--then go home with their girlfriend.
Strippers are all perfect 10s--until the lights come on.
    ----
I think that pretty much covers it.

Again, morons, paleontologists do not think a comet/asteroid killed all the dinosaurs. Hollywood thinks an impact killed the dinosaurs. The real story is too complex and boring. An impact is simple and exciting, so morons like Gavin can understand it in a movie's quick bullshit explanation.

If I remember right about the hubble telescope. When they get the pictures, they get info about "what they are seeing". Like what substances they are seeing and based of that they can get the right colors. Like I said might not be 100% accurate

Speaking about the reflectors on the moon thats true because up by my hunting camp they turned this old airport into one of the star gazers area with telescopes and meteor showers and stuff and they give out these special lasers with the codes and point them at the moon and they can see them on the computer...

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but regarding the discussion about astronomy photos being colored by NASA "artists"
As I understand it when those photos are being processed, the scientists assign different colors to the different light waves/ emissions coming off the celestial object. This allows scientists to analyze the different components of the celestial object as well as produce a stunning image. Think of it as broadening our eye's light sensing capabilities to be able to see the different shades of a different spectrum.
It definitely makes the photos seem less "fake"
