I agree with Gus about The Leftovers. The first tv spot for that show I saw had great music, so I looked it up. It was Retrograde by James Blake. He's now become one of my favorite artists. Also, I was interested in that show because of the concept, but the music in that tv spot really sold it.

I wish I had been watching this while it was live just for the eye surgery discussion. I had eye surgery a few years back and all the guys did was go under my eye and fix the muscles behind it. I was under and the only thing horrible about that surgery was it felt like there was sand in my eye and my left eye looked like I had a demon eye or something.

Occasionally I can make my right eye make a noise similar to a creaking door. It freaked out my wife the first time we were lying in the dark and I made it do that over and over.

First person and third person are like two points of view in a story, in which the character is the first person, the person listening to the story, and third person is the person telling the story. In games the character is still the first person, the player is the second person, and the third person is the camera behind the character. This is why there are no second person games. If there was, it would basically be you watching yourself sit in a chair and play the game.

I see someone as upside-down once they pass 180 degrees. Burnie asked if you moved someone away from you, would they be on a different angle; the way I see it is that they're on a different angle at 180 degrees, and upside-down at 181. However, I do see both sides.

    • edwardcoate

Gavin explained the rules of his relativity, then Burnie explained his rules of relativity.
Burnie said (And this isn't an exact quote) 'Relative to the centre of the Earth, Michael & I are the right way up.
Gavin said 'Relative to us, Michael is upside down'
They're both right, except Gavin acknowledged Burnie's view, but Burnie didn't acknowledge Gavin's.
This is typical of Burnie, with the senses argument, he only sees the world through his own egocentric relative definitions/viewpoints.

So the guys were talking about weird eye stuff. I gotta talk about this weird thing about my eyes.

So I only noticed this about a year or so ago, but if I'm looking at a traffic light and I turn my head to the left or right, while still looking at the light, the light will move either left or right as well depending on the color of it. That is to say if I'm looking at a green light and I turn my head left, the green light itself will move left too and there will just be a black spot where the light is supposed to be on the traffic light. Or contrary to that, if I turn my head left while starring at a red light, the light will move to the right.

I don't know why this happens with me, or why green will go the same direction as me and red will go the opposite. But it only happens with bright red and green lights at a distance and only in a limited spectrum(mainly just traffic lights). If there's anyone who knows what the heck is wrong with me, please let me know.

Oh god, I haven't seen Gavin so trolly since Minecraft #2! Poor Burnie, though--dude, many thousands of us enjoy every minute of podcast content! Only the nitpicky Monty's of the world even think to compare to previous podcasts.

I've never seen Burnie 'break' like this before, but christ was it funny. Seriously hope he's still gonna be on the next podcast, though; Burnie's always an absolute JUGGERNAUT when it comes to sheer ability to converse. Endless charisma.

It's not weird at all that you repeat stuff on the podcasts. Every week you talk about pretty much every interesting thing that happened that week, so whenever you talk about something that happened in the past it's very likely you talked about it in an earlier episode. All that happened this week is that two of them were in the same episode. All the rest were just Gavin messing with Burnie. And it's not exactly weird to retell a story again after a year or so, it probably happens all the time in regular conversation but there's just not an easily searchable record of it.

People still say "like, comment and subscribe" on their YouTube videos because that was how they were featured on the older YouTube site. It used to be the top videos were sorted by "Most comments this week" or "Most subscriptions" and such. I don't know why they still do that now, I guess just old habits.

I don't understand the hate toward PewDiePie. Don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to their own opinion--including disliking a person. In this case though it just comes off as bitter. They're catering to the same demographic in similar ways, so you'd think that any recognition for a fellow creator would be a good thing.

I agree as well. I can understand how some people might not like his content, but the guy himself is very humble, and he's done a bunch of charity stuff. There's no reason to dislike him as the person. I'm guessing people like Gavin just decided they didn't like his content so they don't like him, and haven't done the research to see what Pewdiepie is actually like as a person so it's easy for them to just hate on Pewdiepie.

I agree, whenever I hear Gavin complain about PewDiePie I just imagine Harry Styles bitching about Justin Bieber. Also I read the article and I think they were unfair in their portrayal of what he said, but that's another issue.

Sooooooooo ... why doesn't AH have a webstream camera stuck up in the middle of the room. Perhaps no sound or it wouldn't really matter if it had sound so we can see what they do on a daily basis. They can turn it off at night or if they are going to discuss something secret ... but just having it running on a the wide angle while they are doing AWHU or LetsPlays or stuff like that ... would be super cool. Sponsor feed only though (cos I am a sponsor)

Great podcast, always a fan of the philosophical conversations they constantly find themselves in. Don't usually do this, but actually going to have to side with Burnie on the talk of relativity. Looking forward to next weeks!

Gavin and gus proved the dumbass American self centred opinion thing about the whole world revolving around them. you know how much america would cry if the whole world said they were upside down. Fucking retards. Pathetic. Good job burnie.

Burnie and Gavin have such great chemistry. Both are so defensive of their viewpoints that they create the most entertaining conversations about whatever subject they talk about. These moments are some of the best on the podcast.

Burnie and Gavin's argument is really about coordinate systems. Gavin thinks in Cartesian directions and coordinates, with the origin at his feet, and "upwards" being the direction normal to the approximate plane on which he's standing. Burnie, on the other hand, is looking at it spherically, with point of origin at the center of the Earth. "Upwards" means radially outward.

Strangely, this could say something about their outlooks and philosophies. Gavin's is the more egocentric way of viewing the world, and one that I'm pretty sure most people share. His views are centered on him and the things around him, and people and events outside his immediate scope are much less important than those he is facing directly. Burnie's view is geocentric, encompassing everybody on the globe. This would imply that people and events removed from his immediate scope would carry much more weight for him than they would for Gavin, even if they are still a bit less important than the things closest to him.

    Just a thought :P
