Giant 6ft Balloon Shower

The Slow Mo Guys: Giant 6ft Balloon Shower

Making Giant Balloon June was sweaty work. Time to wrap it all up with a gargantuan shower. Don't try this one at home either.

At the end when they were talking to he camera, what building is that behind the fence? Almost looks like the roof to something off of the Primitive Technology channel.

All these videos are shot in Gavin's back yard, so unless Primitive Technology is based in Austin, it's probably just someone's old garage.

Seeing the trampoline lift up and spread the water over a wider surface area was really cool!

A highly tentative estimate puts that to be around 2,000 pounds of water that fell onto Dan in under 5 seconds. No wonder he yells when the balloon pops.

You're assuming the balloon is inflated to a 6 foot diameter sphere of water. If that were true, your calculations would be correct. But because a) the balloon is on the trampoline and b) the balloon cannot compress water into the shape of a sphere, the volume of the balloon when it pops is much less than 12pi.

No trampoline actually hold a ton and no human can survive a ton compressing their lungs. That would be like having half a car on your chest.

He wouldn't have a ton of water directly pressing on his lungs, it would take time and be spread out - did you watch the video? The actual amount of water pressure was probably highest from before the pop but the trampoline was holding by far the majority of that weight.

(And I'm pretty sure that there are trampolines that can hold a ton or even tonne; it seems physically possible so some one somewhere has probably done it (if only to put an elephant on a trampoline! ;))
