Back Just came back from Sierra leone yesterday. Very rewarding, informing, and educational trip. I saw a lot, did as much as i could, and came back with more experience and knowledge about medicine, tropical medicine, sierra leone, west Africa, and futball than I ever would have imagined.
I was able to help in surgery from laparotomy to emergency c-sections. I also visited the diamond mines, Freetown, meet the deputy minister on energy, met people from all over the world, watched an ungodly amount of futball when in town, ran in the countryside, spent a night in a small village, and saw more African millipedes than I ever expected. However, my best memories came at the hospital.
I'll be posting more when I get a chance, but currently I'm doing secondaries right now, as well as looking for a job and place to live until med school. Oh, and I improved my mcat while I was there.
Last thing, screw brussels airlines.
