he's right. there are no subtitles on the dvds. I'd love them just to figure out the occasional blurry line but its a lot of extra work. still I know someone released subtitled episodes on his own but I dont remember who it is

I think they do need subtitles on the DVD because it will solve debates of some unclear words. And what about the poor deaf people who don't know this is funny. It shouldn't be to hard to subb because they made the script and all.
There is a fan-hosted website that has started making subtitles that can be played with the movies - but they've only gotten through Episode 5, and I think the subtitles only work on HiRes videos.
My wife's Japanese, and she speaks English almost fluently, but sometimes when she watches RvB (she likes the "Developers Developers" joke alot), she gets lost in English slang. If she could see things in subtitles, it's easier for her to follow.
I do the same thing when I watch Japanese TV/movies with her. If I can see what they are saying, I can get the gist of it wihtout being fluent.
But I won`t use subtitles anyways, because it`s even more fun to discover some hidden (slang-) jokes while watching the episodes a second or third (or 20th) time.
idk, but i had the season 1 dvd and was watching it with my friend and he was like, forget this, i cant hear it and it was hard to hear them on season 1 good point
