It's working fine on current Nightly builds, and a copy of Firefox 6 that's refusing to update for some reason also works...

I'll try everything in between in a bit.

Okay, just tried with everything from Firefox 6 to Nightly 10. Page-up/Page-down works in every single one of them.

Weird, it absolutely does not do anything for me. Home and End work though.

Edit: it's JUST on gmail I'm having this; other sites are fine.

And we now have a double-digit version number in Firefox Nightly.

Let the UA-sniffer breakage begin!

Looks like Greasemonkey has a catastrophic conflict with FF8.0b1, to the extent I couldn't even start the program without downgrading, disabling the extension and upgrading again. Anyone know anything about that?

What version of greasemonkey? It's working fine here for me on the 10.0 Nightly build...

I'm on the nightly (2011.09.29). Actually it might be Greasefire (1.0.6) which I use alongside it. Will test, back in most likely two reinstalls.

Firefox 8 or higher (beta or aurora or nightly) won't even start with this add on installed! I took a long time before I found the problem.

So apparently the typing lag-behind in the new layout only happens in Firefox, not other browsers. That would make it a JS efficiency problem in Firefox, right?

Firefox 3.6 support ends a week from Tuesday, on April 24.

So please upgrade if you haven't already.

Thanks for the heads-up. I have installed it and now can I can browse the internet even more safely than I could before :-) (I was using Firefox 11 :-) )

I love Firefox; it is through using (and programming with it) I truly appreciate how great it it and since I started using it 7 years on it has just been getting better and better and better.

Fx 12 is better on this site with keeping up, though it does tend to fall behind and then get jumpy sometimes. Still, makes RT miles more usable than it was before.

Typing very quickly. I write computer code for a living, so it's kind of what I do. It mostly happens when writing a journal, presumably because I have a lot of content in there now.

Hey Kwierso - when will Firefox have more complete support for HTML5 form inputs?

I got updated after UStream caused a crash via memory leak. Then it took 2 minutes to reload. In the middle of a Jeff Rupert song. Sour about that.

Alternatively, we can bitch and moan every six weeks about how Firefox is horrible for drawing attention to the update and keeping us from our stuff.

Alternatively to the alternative, we can disable the update service and let Firefox bug us about the updates.

Alternatively to the alternative to the alternative, we can disable update checking entirely and deal with the security risks that entails.
