So this is pretty much a topic for anything ultimate frisbee. So feel free to say whatever you want on the sport. Also, i'm wondering if anyone's school, if your in school, has an ultimate frisbee team, or if that's just common in my area.
I know of some colleges... Arizona State I know did... that have club teams and all. Talk about a game that gives you a workout.
I'm not too lucky in it though. Last time I played I drilled some poor girl in the face with the frisbee. Gave her a nice shiner under her eye. It matched the black eye my brother gave her boyfriend when he hit him with a baseball.
Maybe I'll just stop playing sports where you have to throw something :)
Ultimate Frisbee is very very popular at my school. We have a club team and tons of people play. Its also popular in many of the colleges around Cinci too.
yah, same here, it's kinda hard to get other schools to play though. not really any easy way u can contact whoever's in charge of the other school teams, but when we do it's hellafun game
My school (Whitworth College) loves Ultimate Frisbee. I have played on an IM team for the past 4 years there. It really seems like over half the school plays. We have a club team that plays against Gonzaga (sp?) sometimes, but I have been too busy with school to join.
I played it at school a few weeks back, because our new P.E teacher is canadian. Fun game, unless you're out in when its 3 degrees and raining. Damn P.E...

My school never had it and i never heard of it until this year, but my University has it.
so i now play with the uni, i'm only a beginer so i doubt i'll make the Uni team, but i might make it to the uni games if i keep with it.

I play ultimate for my highscool team and we are one of te top teams in the country...We are playing in the western US championchips in Seattle 14-15may its gonna be awesome!

Unfortunatly i'm currently injured, left over from a tournament a couple of months ago, I thought i was ok, but went to training yesterday and my leg started to twinge again, so i guess more gym training and recovery will be needed before i can play again =(
frisbee update well i've been playing frisbee for 10ish weeks now. this week is the semis for this simesters comp. and the try outs for the university games in tamworth are on monday.
I'm planing to head to sydney on the 29th of may to play in the IV comp at sydney uni. so it should be interesting to see how frisbee is played at other uni's.
by the way do you guys have any favourite plays ? i'm still working on getting used to zoned marking and the cup plays.. let alone anything more complex
I'm just curious why the thread starter had 5 Lame points...I don't like cricket or boxing or greek wrestling but I don't go neg modding the starter...am kinda tempted to though. lol.
I don't play the sport but I've seen it being played and talked with a guy who's played for a while about it. Seems pretty cool might take it up a Uni though there are some other sports I wan't to try and get into first.
Ultimate is cool, great fun .... would recommend it to anyone, people who can throw a frisbee to complete n00bs ... anyone can play. I would also highly recommend to people who enjoy ultimate to have a go at disc golf =)
I'm in the UPA, too. My school just started an ultimate program when I was a freshman, I am now a junior and we have officially become a varsity sport. I'm curious as to whether anyone here has played against us, we're the St. Johnsbury Academy Arctic Circle.
Ultimate is one of the greatest sports I've ever played, it combines skill, speed, and patience with the best-spirited people I have ever met. No other sport I have ever played allowed the two opposing teams to do cheers for each other (those of you who have never witnessed an ultimate cheer have missed something great to behold. It consists of something to show or tell of what the other team did well. It could be a haiku, an interpretive dance, a song, a poem, and many, many other things.)
heehheh just playin guys... i happen to be on the same team as newuser57... unfortunately, out of 4 or 5 games we played, we only won one of them, but all the others we lost by two points....
of course all the seniors left our team last year so this year not only do we suckish but also no one really wants to play... so we havnt played much at all this year
until today...we played at lunch. YES and supposedly we're startin to play a bit again
My local high school started a club last year. We played in the fall and the spring, and again this fall. We just started up again, just this past Wednesday. And more tomorrow!
I got really out of shape overthe winter. I could tell on Wednesday, andwe weren't even going all out. My legs still hurt a bit.
My highschool started a club team three years ago, this year we are a varsity sport. We're looking to host a huge home tournement on weekend this season, one day it will be open division, the other it will be a womens division. Anyone here ever played the St. J. Academy Arctic circle?
