I'm not an RPG fan and I loved the 2 kotor games. The story line is so amazing in the first game. It is the greatest star wars game ever. The replay value is insane. I beat it at least 6 or 7 times.
The 2nd game, while still fun, was a let down. It was a fun game, don't get me wrong, but I prefer Bioware over Obsidian.
I like RPG's a lot, but strangely I never really got into KOTOR. Haven't played the second one, though. However, I'm definitely checking out Bioware's new RPG, Jade Empire. It looks sick.
I really liked all the awsome Force Power you get in KOTOR 2. I also like that you start out as a Jedi and that you can level up past level 20. The only thing I hated about it was that you had to rebuild HK-47 and you don't get a lightsaber for a really long time.
yea u can do the game without a lightsaber one reason it was a letdown kotor 1 took up my whole summer when it came out i replayed it like 20 times so i could see the different outcome for everything
You can play KOTOR without a saber if you choose to. If you went through KOTOR 2 without a saber you were doing something VERY wrong. KOTOR 2 also has more endings and possible outcomes. Over 16 endings, man!
Don't know KOTOR2 yet but I played about an hour in. Decent graphics. Was kind of disappointed by what cut scenes there were, but then again, KOTOR the original didn't get really enthralling until about halfway through.
Ok, in all honesty, how many people chose Dark Side first when playing the game? I know I did. I picked fights with everyone. When people went "Help me, I have wounds!" I just told them stuff like "Dont make me kill you!" Ah, the joys of being evil. Were there only 2 endings for the original? I dont have KOTOR2 yet...i have no money :-(
I actually went light side first. I wanted to play the game as I would react in the situation first, then I like to play around and see all the different endings and reactions to conversations. That's why I've played these games so much. I prefer KotOR over Fable, personally.
I know this may sound lame to some, but when I play a RPG I instead inject myself into the character rather than playing their role in the game. Therefore when I started KotOR and KotOR 2 I was a Male and stayed on the lightside. I know that the basis of an RPG is to play the character, but I think I may prefer to do it in reverse.
I have to say, KOTR 1 had the best storyline i have ever seen in a game. KOTR 2's storyline was a bit of a letdown tho. I did enjoy all the influence, building equipment and things in 2 because you were able to make your party be light or dark like you. In 1 I would always bring my light characters with me because I played thru as light, but that means you miss out on the characters like canderous and HK-47. If 2's gameplay system was integrated into 1's storyline you would have quite possibly the greatest game in existence. Thats my opinion at least. :)
The first Kotor had everything a person wants in a star wars game, the ability to get force powers and a lightsaber, some sort of jedi training which gives u a sense of ur character is actually a jedi and a hot character that u share a bod with, and in kotor 2 u dont have jedi training, when u get ur lightsaber it doesnt feel like much, and u get an old lady to share a bond with :(. so as u can see the first one is a kick ass game.
Both #1 and #2 are good. in #1 though, I actaully knew what I was doing the 1st time. had to search for star maps. in #2 I found myself goin "eh?". really was the most clueless person(still am occasionaly). I don't know, hard to tell which one is better. #2 was bigger but #1 was easier to follow
