This is one of the most Badass series to ever come along (Including the most Badass Video Game character ever) This is the place to all talk about the DMC series and what kind of condisner Dante uses to get his hair to be so perfect like that.... The Devil has awoken and is ready to kick some serious ass!
I had the first game and finished it. Thought it was awesome, I love how Dante is badass from the start. With some games it takes you a while to be able to do a lot of things, but Dante has a kickass repetoire of moves from the getgo. Plus he is the only person that I know that can actually use the phrase "Flock off, feather face!" and get away with it.
Never played the second game, heard that they fucked that one up, made it insanely easy.
The third, however is a different matter. They seem to take it that because the made the second so simple, the third should be INSANELY difficult. Haven't been able to get past the two brother guardians of Hell myself, but then again, after I tried three or four times, I started playing God of War. Goddammit that game rocks! I dare anyone to play that game and NOT get a huge, rock-hard boner from Kratos.
THe first one was the first game I bought for PS2, along with FFX. Played it non-stop till I had it down pat. Awesome game... and Dante was, in fact, badass.
I never played 2. I wanted to, but my friend who bought it said that it was a horrible waste of money, so I never did.
I have yet to pick up 3, although I have heard nothing but good things about it.
Dmc1 was a great game in my opinion,I dont play it much anymore on the account that I had to beat it like 12 times to get cool stuff. Dmc2 was an extreme waste of money it was really easy ahnd wasnt very much like Dmc1 at all. Dmc3 is amazing, its a little easier to play than Ninja Gaiden(Known for being awesome but hard) The graphics are ok nothing special but the gameplay is very good(Much better than God Of War imo)
I have a question about DMC3. I beat it a few days ago on hard. I read if you beat it on hard thet you would get something called a Force Edge. Is this true? If so my games messed up.
Rumor. Force Edge was Dante's Sword from the first game, his father's sword. You do, however, unlock Dante Must Die mode. Complete that and I believe that you will unlock Dante's Super Dante outfit (or rather his father, Sparda's outfit) where you can remain in Devil mode without losing any of your Devil Trigger bar.
Played the first one and beat it, it was an awsome game. Didnt play the second one, heard it sucked. Have the third one and its kickass. I just need some help. I cant get pass the third level, i know thats sad. Any tips would be nice.
I'm in the same pack that owned and beat one, skipped two, and is now playing and loving three. Three kicks ass. I swallowed my pride to play on Easy (although I've heard that they just changed the name from the Japanese version: Easy (North American) = Normal (Japanese), and Normal = Hard.)
My fave DevilArms are Agni & Rudra, the fire and wind element swords. Right now I've been messing with Nevan, the electric bat-summoning guitar. It's got some cool moves too, but it's tougher to get good Stylish combos going with it. As for ranged weapons, I usually keep the pistols in rotation and swap out for Artemis for some more firepower when necessary.
So far I've only been playing with the Swordmaster style, but I tried out all the others to get a look at the different moves available. I'm all about the air combos though, so I'll stick with this style.
i rented the first and got pretty far in it but i never had the money to actually buy it. Now i got DMC 3 and it is becoming one of my favorite game.
Agni & Rudra is definitely my favorite devilarm but nevan is close. Wailing on the guitar and sending bats to hit the enemy is just so much fun. Its also really easy to get a stylish with nevan.
Now i stick with E&I and Spiral but i might switch the spiral for kilina ann after i get it.
I just got my Swordmaster style to Lvl 3 (max). So (to make sure no points went to waste) I switched over to Gunslinger. I find Nevan works really well with that style: using the dash to knock an enemy into the air and then juggling it with bullets while keeping others at bay with the other handgun always puts a smile on my face. And if they ever get too crowded around me I'll hit the hyper combo. Let's rock.
Once I turned the Volume Up, Nevan became one of my faves.
What's "kilina ann"? Guess I haven't found that yet.
I havent found it either but i heard its Lady's bigass weapon that she carries. I'm working on gunslinger also. I have everything at lvl 2 except for swordmaster which is lvl 3. I really want to get Beowulf, but you dont get that till mission 14 and im on mission 11
I have yet to play DMC3. BIg fan of DMC1 though, a while back I beat it on DMD. Very challenging and rewarding. Never played 2 for already stated reasons. Well, back to Diablo2 now.
Ah, I take it you have a strategy guide (or read one online). Beowulf is pretty cool. It plays quite similar to the Ifrit gloves in DMC1, but the Swordmaster moves give it a lot of power.
Oh, by "Lady" you mean that girl who you see in several scenes (I believe her name is Mary)? So you get to use her rocket launcher/spear? Crazy.
I watched him beat Beowulf and then i watched him fight Vergil. at this point Vergil killed Beowulf and got the gauntlets. But my friend got completely owned by Vergil. He told me that you get the gauntlets at the beginngin of chapter 14.
also just to let you know the thing about the kalina ann might not be completely true. I have yet to look into it and probably wont but i just heard about it from a friend, the same friend i watched play, and he usually doesnt make stuff up. I think he is correct, but if it is wrong then dont come back and say that i gave you false info.
I love Beowulf. The sense of power that you get from using them is really, really great.
As for the my DMC series, I never bought one but borrowed from a friend. Loved it. Although I wish the would give back the last weapons you get (was it Sparda?). That thing was awesome.
I did buy DMC2 with high hopes, but they were shattered into a billion pieces. I didn't think the action was gone, just the story. I had no clue what was going on. But they did need to get better weapons.
And onto DMC3. I was looking at both Gran Turismo 4 and DMC3. Either one would have satisfied me, but I was leaning more to GT4. But then I saw on TV a preview of DMC3. Changed my mind instantly.
And yes, if you hadn't played the game in a while, DMC3 was hard. Very hard. I unlocked easy on the second lvl. But after awhile, I could go through the game easily. It just took some time to remember the controls.
Yeah, I agree: it would be cool if, on your second time through DMC1, you could use Sparda through the whole game. Oh well.
As for remembering the controls, I changed them to match DMC1. It's not that different, but I prefer it. I don't know why they messed with it in the first place.
I dont even remember the controls from DMC 1 but the controls for DMC 3 are really good.
I told myself i wouldnt pussy out and go to easy but when i got to Cerberus i had to switch to easy, but now im going back and doing the levels that ive already done on easy on normal
I started doing that too, but now the first few levels on normal seem too easy because of the extra abilities, weapons, and expanded health bar. It's a good way to get more orbs and level up though.
Thats what i'm in the middle of doing right now. Im up to mission 11 on easy and 5 on normal so i just started doing all the missions over again to gain orbs and level up my styles.
I've got Kalina Ann now... it's really not that special. The rocket is powerful, but it's so slow. Gunslinger style gives you a few more tricks with it (grappling enemies is fun: think Scorpion from Mortal Kombat) but overall I prefer other weapons.
I'm on Mission 20. It might be the last one. 18 was very long and tough. Make sure you buy a few Yellow Orbs for that one... you'll see what I mean when you get there. The "Chess battle" was brilliant though. (Again, you'll know what I'm talking about when you get there).
