Probably my favorite author, Clancy's ultra-realistic military novels are incredible. My favorite novel of his would have to be Rainbow 6. What are your favorite novels?

i think i have... i'm not too sure... i know i read "the hunt for red october" before the game, and i knew of Clancy then, but im not sure if the game got me to read the book, or if 'the hunt' did. in either case, i love his work

I did and strangely enough I am rereading it right now.

I think my favorite of his is Without Remorse. Clark is just so badass in that book. The second place book on my list is Red Storm Rising. That is one of the most well written and engaging books I have read.

I loved how he takes on the whole lot of them at the end of it. Definitely one of the coolest characters ever written. Even as a commander in R6.

I read Rainbow 6 before it was a game, enjoyed it too. It's really hard for me to pick a favorite out of the Jack Ryan universe, but it's between Cardinal of the Kremlin and The Sum of All Fears. Although, I think that the book to movie translation of The Sum of All Fears is probably the worst adaptation ever.

As to my opinion on co-written novels, I enjoyed Op-Center most. I read up until Divide and Conquer then got side tracked by something else. Now I hear that someone else has taken over the series, what's that all about?

The first few movies were pretty decent But Sum of All Fears changed so many things. Jack's age, his marital status, Clark's age, who was building the bomb, where the bomb went. Numerous other things. It wasn't even a very good movie ignoring that stuff.

Thing is I wasn't going to see it at all, there was zero desire after seeing the trailers. But my mom said some friends of a friend, who were apparently Clancy fans, saw it and said it was good. HOW ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH CAN YOU BE A CLANCY FAN AND SAY THAT? It was total plot butchery.

Has anyone heard anything about new stuff from Clancy recently? Teeth of the Tiger came out sometime in 2003.

I've read all of his fiction novels not written as a part of any series, several Net Force books, and a couple of the Power Plays books. Clancy is one of my two favorite authors. I don't think I could just pick one favorite book of his though...there are just too many good ones.
