That's cool that your local GW staff has some information to leak. Mine is always telling us that GW corporate won't tell them anything so information won't be leaked.

I've heard from others about this too. And GW have uploaded a bunch of youtube videos with "June 23rd" and "VI" appearing. This is happening.

Yeah so at 10pm tonight my time my local is holding a 750pt tourney and there you can (And I will) pre-order the new rule book...

Thing is, they have been there a while and I've been in most days, only working weekends means you have time to kill painting, so we've just become friends rather than an employee/regular sort of relationship...

I don't know if my store's doing anything. I'll check their facebook page. But me and my good friend Paul had a 11,000 point apocalypse game. I had to spend the night there so we could finish the game the next morning. It was our way of giving 5th edition a sendoff.

Sorry I meant joke as in the rules balancing out.
Goddamn internet miscommunication!
Apparently the turn order has been moved about? I'm not sure, I haven't been on BoLS or DakkaDakka in a while

I've heard those rumours too. Apparently the assault phase is coming before the shooting phase, giving choppy armies an edge, so they can get into combat without getting shot to pieces by the more dakka centric armies.

That sounds pretty fair actually, then you can't run and immediately fleet into combat, I like it!

Don't you just want to do an apocalypse game at 1,000,000.00 points a player at times. Ah... That would be an epic week long battle. Then you realize that it's a million points and your forget it...

Yeah Assault coming before the shooting phase is going balance a lot of armies out.

Sorry for the double post

Thats cool.
Although probably won't beat the 11,000K game that happened at one campaign weekend I went on, think 11,000pt Iyanden army complete with Phantom Titan as a few other Superheavies....

If there's going to be a psychic phase, I predict massive changes to lore to incoporate it. E.G. giving the Tau Empire psykers for no good reason that the canon can justify simply so GW can sell new models and card packs to the players.

Well there is going to be a standardised lore like there is in fantasy, and it doesn't take a real leap of imagination to say Ethereals are psykers, gives them a purpose.
Either way my weirdboy is going to be awesome......

They may just say that the Tau get to use advanced tech in that phase which boosts stats or something.
At least that'll stay canon

The Tau will probably get something like a techno-mages. Work like physkers, But are using complicated algorithms to manipulate the warp. Not the power of ones mind.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, expect Tau can't access the warp at all, they move fleets with basically hyper/slipspace
I can't remember

The Tau simply choose not to manipulate the Warp. Their advanced technology means they have stable sources of energy that are risk-free compared to dabbling in dark powers beyond mortal comprehension. They have the fastest starships, letting them travel at Faster-Than-Light speeds without warp assistance.

All I'm really saying is the Tau will get a Physker like unit that will be heavily rooted in sciences. (Which is easily summed up with any quantum theory). Even if they do ever mess with the warp I'm sure the Tau would do so in a way that is so scientifically accurate that it wouldn't have much of a risk at all.

I use what I call selective purchase. If I don't like the new rules I ignore the book. Just like House.

Yeah the gamers edition looks nice but I don't have a $140 to shell out for it :( I love how they give you a set of dice that's cased in a laspack.

The rumor I've heard about the gamer and up editions having that the paper is slightly thicker so that it's more durable. I'm not sure how true that is. But that is what my local GW rep told me.

The new templates also look pretty rad. Do people still say rad... What about tubular?

My local GW says the collector's edition rulebooks are already sold out worldwide. But I wish you the best of luck.

Just reserved a place in a death of 5th edition tournament my local GW (Dublin, Ireland) are running. 7pm to Midnight this Friday, followed by distribution of the 6th ed rulebook at 12:01

Hopefully my luck will improve. Last time I played against forum member Gunninator' s imperial guard and well....
