I presume ledge is something good. Damn kids today!! Also the reason it's cool is because it is different, the original was a load of bent balls.
ok, SPOILERS ABOUT TONIGHTS EPISODE BE HERE ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- Alien spaceship crash lands in the Thames, Prime Minister disappears. Turns out the "alien" is just a pig in a spacesuit and it's all a hoax. Real aliens are in fact key members of the Cabinet and they kill the PM. Doctor Who finds out and then it's ON TO THE NEXT EPISODE. Oh yeah, there was some stuff about Rose and Mickey but it's not really that important. ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- potatoes.
The new episode finished airing about40 minutes ago. It was quite good I think although The Doctor did use his Sonic Screwdriver quite a bit... However, the next episode is the one everyone wants... Why?
i just watched last night's on sky+ and it was ok i had to work out what happend in the one i missed before. I still don't know why the fuck they were all electric at the beginnning.
In part 1 the ship crashing into Big Ben was bait to lure all the UFO experts to London. The Slitheen got everyone to wear booby trapped id cards and electrocuted them.
Just finished watching Dalek and I was very pleased.
(SPOILER)
I thought they updated the Dalek 'technology' without compromising the original series too much. Showing off the sucker's multiple uses was a smart move, and personally, I thought the forcefield stopping the bullets was fucking awesome. They also showed off that it was reasonably smart as well, which is something they often failed to do, before.
All in all, it was a very dark episode, which was carried off with a lot of style and panache. And somehow I don't think this is the last we'll see of the Daleks - or the Time Lords, for that matter.
Oh, and the Cyberman cameo made me cheer. :) Next season, I hope...
yeah my dad jumped up and he was like OMFG ITS CYBERMAN!
i actually thought that episode was awesome and its cool that those bastards aren't stumped by stairs anymore and i also had a tiny orgasm when i saw what the dalek was under the metal poor lil thing i want one as a pet minus the goo
Yeah, the Cyberman looked like one of the ones from the Tom Baker story Revenge of the Cybermen (which is a really sucky story, incidentally - even the title is pretty stupid). I'm hoping that's not what the Cybermen will look like if they do appear, cos it looked very primitive, compared to how they looked in the last story they were in. Don't get me wrong, that worked very well for the context in which it appeared, but one thing I always liked about them is that they were constantly evolving, and generally looked better in every story:
I don't watch Coronation Street, so I didn't realise he was in it. I have to say I'm not sure about that guy, though. I was wincing when he rolled under the door and left Rose to her fate, because there's no way I'd leave her like that. ;)
As for the Doctor blowing up the Dalek, I like the way it self-destructed, but I have to admit, I rather wanted to see what that massive gun was like, hehe.
Oh yeah, I loved the Dalek's line right near the end: "This isn't life... this... is sickness."
I'm really glad that the Dalek stayed true to it's nature. It would have been so easy for them to pussy out and make you feel sorry for it, but by the end, I still wanted the thing to die.
I'd like to be the first to ask what the balls was Todd from Coronation Street doing in that episode?
haha he is going to be in it some more
also they picked the doctor for series 2 (doctor number 10) he better transform in an awesome way
ALSO ALSO watch the making of each episode on BBC 3 straight after dr who finishes its awesome. its called "dr who confidential" if you are too cheap to own BBC 3, go here
Also, most people already knew that guy was gonna be the Doc. I haven't actually seen any episodes of Casanova yet, so I dunno what that guy is like. Everyone says he's a good actor though, so bleh.

It's pretty sad, but I went and got a Freeview box last week, primarily to watch Doctor Who Confidential. A mate of mine recorded the earlier ones, but I haven't watched them, yet. It's cool that Simon Pegg is narrating it - in fact, he's in Doctor Who next week.
Actually, what's weird is that David Tennant narrated the Doctor Who special that was broadcast before the first episode, obviously unaware that he was going to end up playing the role, heh.
I'm wondering if he'll play the role with his natural Scottish accent, or adopt an English one (I understand he does in Casanova). Obviously, he wouldn't be the first Scottish Doctor...
