This is one of the best shows on TV! I am pissed that a regular cast member is leaving at the end of the season. Oh, and it shows that you don't need a laughter track to make the show funny!

Great show, good to see a doctor show that is truly funny and still has its serious points, always leaves you wanting to watch more. Dr. Cox is the best sarcastic asshole doctor ever.

twice
British tv has tried to set a sitcom in a hospital and both series together got less laughs than a single episode of Scrubs.

It's on of my favorite shows these days here's some Dr. Cox quotes.

Dr. Cox: Ah, sorry to interrupt you there, Bobbo, but I gotta ask you a quick question. Now, when you were born, nay, *spawned* by the Dark Prince himself, did that rat bastard forget to give you a hug before he sent you along your way? Because you can't just let two good nurses go on account of feeling small and insignificant. And besides, with your money, you ought to be able to keep a little man tucked away in the closet, and bring him out whenever you wanna *knock* him around, huh?
[to the interns]
Dr. Cox: As you were.

Dr. Cox: [explaining he doesn't care it's JD's last week of residency] I suppose I could riff a list of things that I care as little about as our last week. Let's see... low carb diets, Michael Moore, the Republican National Convention, Kabbalah & all Kabbalah-related products, Hi-Def TV, the Bush daughters, wireless hotspots, the OC, the UN, recycling, getting Punk'd, Danny Gans, the Latin Grammys, the real Grammys, Jeff that Wiggle that sleeps too darn much, the Yankees payroll, all the red states, all the blue states, every hybrid car, every talk show, everything on the planet, everything in the solar system, everything, everything, everything, everything, everything, everything, every-everything that exists past present & future, in discovered and undiscovered dimensions!
[turns away, then turns back]
Dr. Cox: Oh, and Hugh Jackman.
J.D.: Hugh Jackman is Wolverine! How dare he!

Dr. Kelso: Dr. Cox, did you get my memo stating that residents should wear their lab coats at all times?
Dr. Cox: Yes I did. At first I just threw it away, but then I thought, that's not grand enough a gesture; so I made a model of you out of straw, put my lab coat on it - with your memo in the pocket - and invited the neighborhood kids to set fire to it and beat it with sticks.

[a nurse has stood up for JD against Dr Cox]
Dr. Cox: Oh, and Ginger, by the way. Just a real smooth move runnin' to your mommy.
J.D.: Excuse me?
Dr. Cox: Yeah, your mommy cah-rushed me today. I'm serious.
[to the various doctors and patients in the busy hospital]
Dr. Cox: Uh, I'd like to issue a warning to everybody, and I'm dead serious. FYI, JD's mommy has made it perfectly clear she doesn't want her daughter picked on. Nothing mean, she's a precious flower, and we should all be super-nice to her.

I was going to create a topic for this, but i decided not to be a fucktard and search, so don't yell at me for bumping an old topic.

Scrubs is my favorite show, and Dr. Cox is by far the best character on the show. He has so many quotables that if I tried to write them all down, my hand would probably get really tired and I'd have to stop so as to ward of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Scrubs Season 1 DVD is a must have. Also, it makes me sad to think someone is leaving the show, unless it's Elliot, because she's my least favorite character. I should probably do a google search, considering I'm sure it's been announced by now, this thread being two months old and all.

Currently DL every episode of Seasons 2-4.

Season 3, Episode 14 is by far my favorite episode. Branden Fraiser can actual act...GASP!

Gay chicken: classic moment.

I love scrubsfor so many reasons. I mean first of all the theme music kicks ass! (who sang it btw) Then you have JD, tuk, elliot and carla who are all great in there own way. But Dr Cox is the greatest. He is just so damn funny. They have just come on dvd in the uk so I am so gonna get them.

I'm pretty sure it is Elliott, given what happened in the season finale. And that's really not a bad thing. I finished watching Season 1 on DVD the other day, and I realized that they had taken her character just about as far as she could go. That and the whole "co-whatever she and JD were" just wasn't working that well. Sad to see her go, but I'm hoping that they'll replace her with someone just as good.

Green Wing wasn't bad, but it still wasn't as good as Scrubs.
Obligatory quote
Dr Kelso (to Dr Cox): Well, well, well. The student has become the teacher, eh Perry?
JD (in background): Thank you sir.
Dr Kelso (to JD): Be quiet son I'm trying to do something here! (turns back to Dr Cox) Damn, he made me lose my rythmn.

Favourite Dr Cox Quote. Shorthly after Carla gives him some advice and to the tune of Big Ben.
Wrong, Wrong, Wrong, Wrong. Wrong, Wrong, Wrong, Wrong. Yourwrong! Yourwrong!

Dr. Cox is, by far, my favorite character. Some youth at my church once commented that I have a similar sarcastic sense of humor as he does. I don't think I'm anywhere near as clever as he is. That comment is why I started watching "Scrubs", though.

By far, my favorite Dr. Cox rant is from the first season. I'll have to paraphrase a little here since I'm at work and can't pop in the DVD to get it exactly right. It's from the first episode with that chick from MAD TV who comes in and is stressed out. She and Elliott were driving Cox up the wall, and so he rants:

"My patience right now is like your virginity, which you always thought you'd have, until that one day your sophomore year when you were feeling a little down on yourself and your good friend Jeff, who you only liked as a friend, showed up at your house with a pack of Bartles and James and a copy of 'About Last Night' and BANG! It was out of there. That's just like my patience RIGHT NOW!"

Like I said, it's a bad paraphrase. There have been times I've wished that I could use that one.....

Janitor is the best in the first season. He's so much more random and strange.

Janitor's Hand Puppet: Is he gunna make it?
Janitor: It doesn't look good.
Puppet: Yay!

J.D.: What's wrong?
Janitor: I lost my mop.
J.D.: Really?
Janitor: No! That's the only thing that could make me unhappy, right? I mean, you guys think of me as nothing but the Janitor.
J.D.: Oh come on, that's not true.
Janitor: Really? Then what's my name (covering his badge)?
J.D.: I know the nurses call you Sir Plunge-A-Lot
Janitor: Yeah, they do.
J.D.: Oh come on, I bet you don't even know my name.
Janitor: John Michael Dorian.
J.D.: How did you know my middle name?
Janitor: Because I care.

There hasn't been a perfect mix of drama and comedy like this since M*A*S*H*.

Oddly enough they're both medical shows. Coincidence?

Also, does anyone know when the next season is starting?

I have no idea when the next season is starting, but I'm hoping soon! This is one of my favorite shows, I got everyone at my college completely into it. We would have huge Scrubs nights with pizzas and beer and laughing like crazy. It's such a great show. Did anyone else get season one? It has a few cool extras.

Dr Cox is my favorite character, as most people have in common, but I'm glad that we like JD. Because you know, it is not easy making a very lovable main character. We see main characters are their worst and best, and usually right into their heads, so most of the time they are not our favorites, but the side characters (like Dr Cox) are the favorites. But JD is so funny and sweet that it is hard not to like him. In fact, they have a very strong cast of characters and actors.

I'm so excited for the next season!

It's just so hard to pick out all the good quotes in this show. My buddy ionbubbles has the first season on DVD, and I stole it for a week and watched it and wrote down a bunch of good quotes. I started doing a quote a day in my journal because they're all so damned good. The way there are relationships between almost every character is really cool, and makes for a really good chemistry in the show.

I think my favorite Dr. Kelso quotes is something like this...

(To Elliot.) "Let's see, you went to four years of college and four years of medical school so I can safely assume that you're at least eight."

Dr. Cox is my favorite character on the show though. Without him, the show would be totally different.
