I love animes, and so the style appealed to me. But I didn't really want to watch it because it figured any anime type show picked up by nick would suck.
But i was pleasantly surprised! The show reminds me of the "good old days" when cartoons on nick were actually good.
my 8 yr ld boy watches this and he asked me if airbenders were real, and I had abso-fucking-lutely no clue what he was talking about....so what is an airbender?
so they are like people who control the elements, right?
I guess I can tell him that there is no evidence of it, but for him to keep trying and I am sure he could do it...which is what I always tell the kids...I hate to tell them that something is not possible, mainly b/c I believe everything that can be imagined can be done...it is all a matter of knowing how to focus your thoughts and mental energies...
yea there are Water, Earth, Fire, and Wind benders. the person that can bend (or manipulate) these 4 matters is called the Avatar.
essentially, there are 4 nations [one for each of these types listed above] that all lived together in peace. Then the fire nation attacked everyone and wanted to take over the world. The Avatar, by legend, is the only one that can bring peace to the world.
correct. only the Avatar has the ability to use all 4 elements. only problem is he doesnt have a mentor.
There is only 1 avatar. He/She is born into 1 of the 4 Nations. He/She will then be trained by a mentor from each of the 4 Nations. Only problem is he was born into the Wind Nation, which got wiped out completely by the Fire Nation. So he doesnt have a mentor.
This show is like the dirty secret with the entire junior ib class. Its really funny, we kidna all watch it, because its surprisingly good, but none of us really admit it to each other. We were sitting in history and someone made some obscure quote reference, and like half the class totally got it. Its a lot older than I thought it would be.
I was pleasently surprised with the show as a whole. The story is interesting and well thoughtout and the animation looks awesome, especially for something NIck's putting out.
crap. i programmed the vcr but when it was time to record it, my dad took out the tape and wanted to watch Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and so the Jet episode didnt get recorded.
now i have to wait a whole month till it gets re-aired.
i was surpise of how stupid the show was i only liked it bc people used powers and that fuzzy thing that flys main chartaer had hair usally they have a really kool hair do like lets say FF7 cloud strife he had a hair do it looked pimp all the breath a fire games they had blue hair for main guy but no they had to but the 12 year old with no hair acts no the less like hes a child and the only reason he survives bc he has powers and he doesnt even have a hot chick usally in the kinds shows where you save the world the main charater who has chicks ^.^ maybe its the no hair that makes no ladys come
I was bored because nothing was on TV and so I watched it. I was really surprised. It's one of the first cartoons on Nick that has a plot. The use of real forms of Karate, or whatnot, is really interesting.
since ther is no other forum for avatar (that i can find) i guess i will post here. as you might have guessed i like the show. some of the episodes are a little dull though.and the blind earthbender chick is cool. great episode.
