Is it just me or did anyone else think this last episode was...ish? I thought it was a bit choppy, and on top of that it felt like we were marching the story to get to this point no matter what. This should have been two episodes IMO.
I could've sworn it said somewhere that firebenders only have those color eyes because of their bending. I need to go watch Sozin's Comet again. I swear I think Ozai's eyes changed color after Aang took his bending. If it's true, it makes a case for my current favorite theory on Amon. Can be read here.
In reply to fritzmonkey, #8585: I'm inclined to disagree [spoilerish link] His kid became quite the businessman... although, it may support your point if you consider the funds he might need... and the mecha inclination...
Just realized this. I'll keep this in spoilers and won't show pics in case it turns out true.
We saw someone getting energy bended by Amon in one of the preview clips. I just noticed that it looks to be Tahno who is showing up in the next episode.
Well, new ep had its share of awkwardness. Bit early for a shipper's war episode, and a step back from the Equalist plot, but still some decent character interaction.
Bolin saved it for me. Tie-breaker shows he's a decent fighter. And the running dejection was comically tragic...
The reaction on Tumblr is hilarious. The general consensus seems to be that Bolin's adorable, Korra's heartless, Mako's a dick, Pema's advice (while well-meaning) was stupid, Asami was just arm-candy and Tahno's voice causes ovaries to spontaneously combust.
People. They're teenagers Of course they're going to act like idiots sometimes.
Anyways.
My favorite bits of the episode: - OH HO HO I SEE UR ZUTARA TROLLING BRYKE VERY FUNNY. - The Borra date was very cute and well-done. - One element tie-breaker match-up. That was really cool. - Makorra kiss! (the aftermath, on the other hand, was hearbreaking) - Drunk Bolin. With hangover. And subsequent vomiting.Noodles-my-ass. - Pabu is awesome. - HAT TRICK. - HEALING. Not that I'm surprised she knows it, but it was awesome to see it nonetheless.
Side note: the Republic City online game revealed that Lin Bei Fong is 50 years old, but said nothing about her father.
And I'm calling it right now: I bet that Lin's the other woman from whom Pema nicked Tenzin.
Gotta say, my heart went out to Bolin. He tried really hard, but teens will be teens. Still on the Makorra ship. If we were going to have more Asami, I agree with contaractor, it was a very weak episode on Asami's end. But I also must say, I loved Jinora and Ikki's advice on love. And Korra was silly for asking them.
