the thing is, is that Batman is a strategist, an expert tactician, he observes, coordinates, and look for his opponents weaknesses, he doesn't go in guns blazing. No he waits and watches until he gathers enough information about his opponents, then he strikes.
in that specific fight....he did both. He was beaten, and he lost. If not for his allies (notably Superman's ethics) that universe would have persisted and he would have been dead.
In any normal encounter between Bats and Zealot, I will give it to Bats, but due to many various factors Bats had no control, much less awareness of, that specific encounter ended with Zealot having to stab a sword through her chest to kill the Bat. She was only able to do that b/c they were both being subtly influenced. For Zealot, it was within her norm, for Bats....well, lets just say he was convinced he had to kill her. If you know Bats, then you know that would bother him.
I think Marvel is better. I don't know much about DC comics other than the few I've read and they don't stack up to Marvel. That being said, I don't know if there is a Marvel character that is as good as Batman. I love all the Marvel characters, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Thor, Iron Man and the rest of the Avengers. DC is just kinda lame in my opinion, but who cares. As long as someone is still reading comic books these days then I'm happy.
Eh, the whole "Who would win in a fight between..." never sits right with me, since it always comes down to what the writer wants anyway. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
DC definitely has great stories but i find the lack of cohesion between the characters to be kinda off putting, I've read a few DC comics and it feels to me that other then the Justice League and Suicide Squad DC is really missing epic team ups it seems most the time DC just pairs everyone up with Superman and or Batman which i get those are their biggest characters and that makes sense. but I think Marvel does Team ups and the Epic battles a bit better they don't normally team unknowns with Wolverine or Spiderman. While i'm assuming we could name how many characters each side has but Marvel has more names i'd care about in a crisis situation. DC seems to have a lot of fluff/filler characters that are just carbon clones of other characters they already have..... Super-boy being one of the literal Clones. That's not to say that DC is bad i like they big names they have but i'd rather not see a Submariner comic ever and how confusing is the DC universe system with the multiple primes and alt realities it gets to be a bit much and forces them to do Crisis series where they kill off entire universes so they can reboot them up again. Well I'm a huge fan of Deadpool it might be the only comic series I have ever read with so much personality and enthralling story. The argument is really pointless after all both companies have very strong characters and plot lines. PS. DEADPOOL wins

You DO know that Deadpool is a shameless copy of Deathstroke, right?
I'am Deadpool is a Marvel adaptation of Deathstroke but other then costume and a little bit of rhyming names you can't draw many more similarities between the two characters. Deadpool is random and mentally unstable and funny while Deathstroke is serious and calculating and boring. But i am enough of a fan of deadpool to admit that he is a copy of deathstroke. I like to think he is deathstroke done right. (I'd also like to correct myself submariner is Marvel but is such a dry and bland comic it feels like a DC comic to me that's probably why i confused it as DC.) I like both companies they offer great comics on both sides but DC feels like its a lone wolf kinda universe and characters inside the universe only interact with one another when its a JLA series or a team up series or they need to refreash the universe while Marvel will outta the blue have other characters meet up and interact with one another and it feels real.

Your statement is just wrong, though; DC comics have a LOT of random inter-comic character interaction. That you'd say they don't only goes to show you don't have a frame of reference for it and haven't really read any DC stories.
