I figure we need a place to talk about upgrades for motorcycles, so here it is!
I'l go first. I am looking for some modifications for my mostly stock 2001 Honda XR200R. I have looked around, but have had no luck so far. If anybody could post a good site for intake/jet mods, i would be appreciative. A nice bore kit company would be nice too :)
not sure where to find most that stuff all the stuff i look for i just to google spamming.. (enting everything under the sun in terms regarding my bike to find parts.) ur bike is has more common parts than mine..i have a 2003 buell XB9R. if u want, this could help.. u could jet over to www.tsbr.us its a local site for me and an orginziation i belong to. a lot of really cool guys and gals.. they could actually help u out on finding what u need or want to do. most of them have imorters like urself.. just thought i would drop a line and try to help..
also look for some stunting websites and forums. they have a lot of info on bikes and mods there to.
wow, this thread died fast, I was just going to make a thread for all the Rooster Teeth street bike riders but I figured I'd search to see if there were any others so I wouldn't repeat a thread.
I'll see if i can change the topic to save the thread.....
Anyone else in the forums ride street bikes? I have an old 1980 400 Special that I still ride sometime, and I just bought a 2005 Yamaha R6. The R6 is SOOOO fast!!! it is amazing to ride. I was used to my buddies 89 CBR 600. It was pretty quick, but no where near the 120 horses my bike is. Looking back I wish I would have bought a Ninja 636, but the R6 is a pretty good bike too, and I think it is more comfortable to ride. .... I don't do any stuntning yet, I pulled a couple wheelies, but they were imbarissing, I am glad no one was around to see them.
..... As for mods, I am just going to do the basics, K&N, Slip on exhaust, probably an ignition re-maper, if I get poping on deceleration. I am going to put on a fender eliminator kit too, but not till I get the kit to convert my brake lights to brake/blinkers. I want people to see me and know where I am going. There are to many retards out there not paying attention, I don't want to know what the under side of there mini van looks like just because they didn't realize I was slowing to make a turn.
im looking into buyting a ninja or something, but i need to find the right deal (somewhere in the $3000 range for a used one) Not too hard... i just need to save up. There is a motorcycle thread that was burried way down and i think there is a dirtbike thread somewhere...
Ninja's are pretty cool bikes, if I were to buy one I would probably get an 03 - 05 636, but even finding an 03 for $3000 would be hard. ..... I am suprised that motorcycle threads die so fast, I have been looking around and there are a bunch of people around who ride... oh well.
Actually, I just read a thread on a sport bike thread where a guy told about buying a 2000 gsxr (600 I think) for around three grand. I didn't think you could find them so new in that price range. I saw an add for an 03 or 04 R6 going for $5000 locally, so I think you just have to know where to shop. I bet you could get a pretty good deal on an 01 - 02 Ninja in your price range if you took your time looked. A buddy of mine is looking for a bike like your looking to find, I talked to him today and he is looking at an 01 ninja 600 listed at 4700 at the local Pro Caliber, he thinks he has them talked down to around 4000, maybe less I can't remember. I don't know if they have any Pro Caliber shops in Cali, but if they do I would check there, sometimes they have good deals. But like I said, take your time. Just so you know I am still pretty new to sport bikes so don't take all of my advice like it's the word of god. I wish I would have taken a little more time and asked around a little more when I bought my bike.
he he, 180s pretty fast. I got my bike up to 140 once on a country road, that was fast enough for me. Scary thing was i was still in fourth gear win 1500 RPMs left to go. Maybe someday I'll top that speed, but not any time soon. I try to stay below 120 now.
