Probably one of my best moments was in a simple Melee game. I prefer UCS (Use Custom Settings) maps, but once and awhile I like to dabble back in a brawl.

Anyway, the game was about 30 minutes in. I'm Zerg, and he's Protoss. I had a force of about 12 Guardians and sent them in, a bit curious on to why he hadn't attacked even ONCE. After exploring around the map a bit, I found his base, and found out why.

He had built a 2-layer wall around his entire base of Protoss Plasma Cannons, or whatever they were called. People who play Starcraft would know what they are. They woud also know that a Guardian can take out defenses while staying safely out of range.

I took some pity on him and decided to just run along the edge of his base, destroying every cannon, which probably ended up costing him over 3000 Minerals & Gas. By the end of my little rampage, he built a small force of Corsairs to take out my Guardians.

Course I had already built 12 more Guardians by the time these had died, and sent them in on a suicide run, taking out support buildings left and right. He built more and more corsairs, figuring I would build more Guardians, however I think he failed to realize that in the last battle that I had destroyed his Gateways.

Whoosh...36 zerglings came running in, and pecked away at his defenseless base. The corsairs tried their best to delay the inevitable by throwing Disruption Webs, but I just ran out of them and kept attacking. His only defense were the probes, and he actually killed about 6 of my zerglings before I took out his nexus, then casually destroyed everything else. :D

I don't play starcraft much anymore, however a few weeks ago some friends and I got a little bored at a lan and decided to play it for kicks, we all sucked but it was great. I won each round ^_^. It's an awesome game.

That must have been fun. Oh, and the wall he built was made of Photon Cannons. You were very close. Even a two layer wall can be destroyed easily by 12-24 Guardians. I must say, he might have lasted if the wall was thicker. I must say, you are very stratigic.

I'm a big SC fan. Unfortunately, my old computer crashed every time i tried to play. so i can't play on my new computer, to protect it from the fate of my old Emachine. Same brand, Different color lights. I try to get some time in at my friends' houses. I'm so adicted, hell, i find myself thinking that I'm gonna be pulled into the Confederacy at any moment. lol

I'm not a great gamer, and have no great moments, but gosh do I love Starcraft. My brother, sister and I all liked to play it on LAN to take out the computers (because I'm too chicken for versus games) and I'm always Zerg. Anywho, M2M was our soundtrack for just about every game, because I can't argue with my sister.

The wall thing was interesting! I feel sorry for your Protoss friend, all that work and effort amounted to.. nothing.

I was wondering, there was this new version of Starcraft that came out that I didn't get a chance to play. I saw my brother play it though, but it was basically a version where all the three different races and their appearances changed. Still Zerg, Terran and all that, but they all just looked.. different.. how can I say it? Like a bunch of those flying, Gundam robot thingies. I forgot its name, does anyone know it?

umm best starcraft moment would be when i build a wall of photon cannons into some guys base and killed him...i think he was terran...

also another one is when i build a 2nd big base and they thought it was the main and they put everything in there to kill me and i nuked it and took out their entire army so all they had was 4 bunkers with 2 firebats in each...nuked them and killed the entire base with SCVs....i had nuked my army too but i had around 60 SCVs

ummm another one was when i killed 3 computers with SCVs only...
that was fun...havent played the game in a few years tho...that was back in the day when noone masses 1 type and actually used some stratagy to mix unit types and send attack groups in waves instead of 200 zerglings to kill u

I don't believe there was really a "new version"...there was Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War. People are hoping that there'll be a Starcraft 2 since there's still plenty of storyline left.

Perhaps you saw a mod? People have made mods where units have entirely different attacks, or with new units. I saw a star-wars mod with actual Dropships and Tie Fighters and X-Wings. There was also a Gundam mod with lots of walking robots. However, the robots were so good looking, that compared to the pixelated buildings it just looked really odd...

Hmmm... best time was in Computers class back in grade 7. I wasn't in the game, but there was this LA N game going on in there, and my friends were gonna go 2 vs 3 of the other guys in there. Anyways, it ended up being 1 vs 4, with my friend Sean being the one. He started to protest, then thought for a minute. He trained ten marines while the other four were busy boasting about how awesome they were at Starcraft. He sent them off to the first guy's base, a Protoss. He had built about 6 additional Probes and two Zealots. The ten marines wiped him out. Next player was Terran, and all he'd built was one bunker, and he had one marine in it (he had a ton of SCV's tho). The ten marines wiped him out. The next one, another Terran, had two bunkers, 10 SCV's and no Marines!!! That guy was yelling at my friend for hacking because his bunkers wouldn't attack! Anyways, he was wiped out, and then the 10 marines (only one of them with a scratch) headed to the last base, a Zerg, and he had about 6 Zerglings. Well, the ten marines by this time had Stimpacks and mowed them down with about 9 marines left at the end.

Let me tell you, I was laughing at all the grumbling at "hacking!"

StarCraft = Greatest RTS ever

My friend and I would play this on his LAN for hours and hours back way back when. It also kept me occupied whenever Id go to my Dads house. I recently installed it on my laptop but havent played it yet.

I still love (and play) that game!

One of my greatest moments would have to be, I was playing versus with one of my friends. He was Terran and I was Protoss. Some early attacks by him were easily defeated (he didn't attack until a bit into the game) by a few photon attacks and a handful of zealots and dragoons. He had only found my second base, but because of the three photon cannons and relatively large force for that time in the game, he thought it was my main base. Meanwhie, that base is churning out minerals and gas for me as the heavy industries at my main base produce waves and waves of zealots, dragoons, reavers, scouts, and shuttles.

As he started to mount a heavy attack (I saw him leave with a scout I left near his base). As he passes the middle of map, i move in half of my troops towards his base. The second half (including most of the reavers) shuttles in towards the back of his base, at his minerals. The Scouts provided air cover, but it would turn out i didn't need it.

My forces annihilate the pitiful defenses at his base (and he left his minerals unguarded!). What's better, the marines, firebats, and tanks he sent toward my second base made a hasty retreat back towards his base, leaving my base completely untouched. As he gets there, my reavers moved to the front and ripped apart his marines and firebats, as the zealots rush in from the sides, attacking the tanks. His army, which could have been a problem, was equally decimated.

Instead of destroying his army, my entire army leaves, taking up position just outside his base. Swarms of probes run down, building walls of photon cannons completely surrounding his base. Reinforcements arrive from my main base, and I've set up three more satellite bases giving me minerals and gas. Carriers and Corsairs took up positions around the perimeter, patrolling. Archons and Dark Archons took up places at the main entrance. When he discovered this, he sent swarms and swarms of marines, goliaths, firebats, and other units trying to break out. When he threatened to quit, I finally killed him.

It was great.

Sunday I got Brood Wars for my birthday from a friend of mine who had two copies. Cheap bastard.

At least now I may actually figure out how to use those BW units instead of just faking it like I've been doing in multiplayer at LANS for so long.

I would be in for that.

I love StarCraft. Its the best RTS out there.
Warcraft 3 comes close, but magic powers and undead units
just can't compete with the glorious view of 24 marines with stims mowing down 12 hydralisks and two ultralisks.

Here's a link to the first part of a StarCraft fan fic that Im writing.

Second part

Third part

That's all ive got, so give it a read and tell me what you think!

My greatest moment 1v7 (Me being the 1) wiped out all the other people with probes and cannons within I think 15 mins or less I got the replay saved on one of my comps. It was extrodarnarly funny. (I know I spelt that wrong) Guess that what they get for being cocky.

Due out towards the end of this year; supposed to be shortly after the XBOX 360 release. Kinda wish it weren't delayed by WoW, seeing as how Blizzard had to move some devs. I want to know what happened to Kerrigan and that hybrid species thing.

If you beat the Elf campaign on hard in Warcraft 3, in the AWESOME credits, they have a extra little thing of Starcraft running on the Warcraft 3 engine. It looks uber-cool. Think how awesome it could be now...
