Yes, odd but true. I was bored working at Gamestop the other day while bored and decided to sift through PS1 game prices out of curiosity, and this game up as the most valuable game, with a USED retail value of $59.99, more expensive than any current game on the market.
I think Valkyrie Profile came in second at 40 something along with some other RPGs, but I'm wondering now, is Suikoden 2 worth the money? I haven't played any of the Suikoden games, but this kind of value made it intruiging to me. But, if any of you at home have it and don't really care for it, you could make a mint off selling it. I think Gamestop buys it for $25, but you could make some decent scratch probably on Ebay.
Well, I'm sure in online auctions and things, the price of Intelligent Cube has skyrocketed due to it's rarity. A sealed copy could probably go for over $70 or so dollars. But as far as retail value is concerned, Suikoden 2 ranks number 1
See? I swear, nobody has played the actual game except me. The demo does not do it justice, the whole game friggin' rules! And how unrare could it be, a side-scrolling shooter by none other than Squaresoft? Did they EVER do anything other than RPG's and that?
In response to the question you asked, YES. Suikoden 2 is well worth it. I think it may be the best Rpg on the playstation; definitely one of the best. I'm so glad I held onto my copy of it, or else I'd have never found it again.
Einhander was a Gradius-style shooter for PS1. I know because I used to own it... I was very, very stupid. Anyway, it retails at $30 used, but you can get MUCH more for it online, probably.
Same with Puzzle Fighter, it retails at $20, but it's really much more valuable.
An original American version of Dragonball GT: Final Bout was valued at almost $200 if you can find it. The original version, not the re-release. I got lucky enough to get one on eBay a few years ago for $120. It's really hard to find an original copy because only 10,000 were made.
