Alright, so I have been getting alot of questions about awards, and frankly, im growing tired of answering the same question so many times.
Alright. So almost all of you might know that official awards are given by Staff members.
The way awards are awarded I guess I could say, is by impressing the staff. If you say or do something on the website that a specific staff member likes, he/she will present to you with his/her award. *Please no ass kissing, that is definetly not the way to get an award nor respected on the sie. Theres already bunches of other people doing the exact same thing.
If anyone has anything else to explain about awards, please do so.
To sum up and expand:
*Awards are given (or denied) by the staff members. *When an award is given, it changes from greyed-out to color.
*When an award is denied, it's covered with a red X.
*Mousing over a given award will cause the staff member's name and the status of the award to pop up.
*Awards can be given for any reason. For example: You posted an interesting or amusing comment. They saw it and checked out your profile.
*In general, they're a way for the staff to show their approval (or disapproval) of you, either for a specific thing or in general.
*Some staff members will tell you why they gave you their awards, some won't. If you don't know why you've gotten an award and you're interested, try asking.
*Awards can be given or denied at any time, including after they've already been given or denied.
*No staff member will give you their award just because beg for it. *Actively attempting to get an award (e.g. by posting "Look what I made you! Give me your award?" over and over to their profile) may end up pissing the staff member off to the point where they'll never award you.
*Awards give you no special powers. They're just shiny.
*Some users, inspired by the staff awards, decided to make their own. These are usually given by the user in a profile comment.

hey i have karma lvl 23 and i have no awards, the staff give them to people who they think desrves them, not just someone who wants one or is at a ceratin lvl
For example: Burnie gives his award if he stops by your profile.
What does Burnie's award mean? I leave my award whenever I visit your profile. It's basically just a sign that I have stopped by. I will also try to +mod whatever drew me there. You can check your Mod Report if you're a sponsor to see what I modded. Typically it's a funny comment in the News section or Video comments, since that's where I spend most of my time reading. A good avatar also helps.

Why is that a bad thing, for some people that's really the only thing we can do. And besides I've learned that if you're going to get anywhere kissing ass is really the only thing to do
I just surfed through here and basically as far as I can tell the whole topic can be summed up by saying....... don't ask questions about awards, don't ask for awards (it makes you look selfish, you never get one, and if just asking for an award is the most creative thing you can do to try and get one the God (wingless angle dude) help you), awards are pretty and are good for karma and finally that most people don't know how or why thery get / got rewards so don't just follow them around asking for good words or tips and shit ummhmm. stuff like that. If anyone detects anymore purpose then feel free to post your objection here or forever hold your peace...
