apparently, a brand new power supply goes through a break-in period, and will run cooler after the first couple uses. Just make sure it's well ventilated and not on carpet and you'll be fine.
Is it the same way for the 360 itself? Like should i for the first 2 weeks or so leave it in the open with a small fan on it then move it into my entertainment center.
no, the power supply is the only thing that breaks in. But in general, you want to keep both well ventilated. And you don't want either on carpet (that is awful for heat).
1. When i was at work today i went to turn on our display 360. We cant actaulylget into the display, only microsoft can. But i hit the big switch in the back and and nothing happened. Well somehitn did actually 3 red lights on the ring of light came up. I knew what this meant from a post i read before. However we have to wait for microsoft to come in and fix it. Funny that even that 360 is messed up.
2. Some kid came in to return his madden 06 which he siad stopped working after 1 day. I looked at the disk and as i expected there was a nice fat scratch in a perfect circle on the outer part. I asked if he had his 360 lying sideways. Sure enough he did. I then asked him he ever adjusted his 360 while the disk was in it and the console turned on. Sure enough yes. So that just goes to show. Dont do that.
1. I can't connect to the Xbox Live Marketplace. It says it can't find the DNS server, or whathaveyou. It tells me to use a computer connected to the internet to try going online. If I can go to any websites, technically it -should- work. The fact that I am here telling you this and that I am not on XBL Marketplace should be a clear sign of a problem.
2. My Condemned: Criminal Origins game has 2 nice, thick, full circle scratches on it, as a result of my 360 being put horizontally. I was told that putting it vertically increases the chance of it overheating (not sure if that's true, however). Should I put it on a 45º angle, or what?
Edit: for clarification (regarding the post above mine), I never moved my console, adjusted its orinetation, etc with a game inside of it)
OK, this is weird. When I have my rechargable in and it's not connected to the play and charge while the system is off, the "3" quadrant is about half lit. Ideas?
Oh I was stupid like him too, did that to my PDZ game. But luckily Target didn't ask questions that night. Got an exchange.
But I can't get Windows Media Connect to work on either computer that I own. XP SP2. It has an error with folder sharing. It tells me to see the Event Viewer and I do but it doesn't help at all.
I am having a problem with getting my 360 to connect to my media center based PC. I have everything installed and I can get to a screen saying MediaCenter contacting...... After that I get a screen that says Session Terminated Another user or application on the Windows Media Center-baed PC has disconnected this device. I have done everything I can think of and can't figure it out. I have disabled the firewall and internet security and that doesnt help. I send an email to microsoft for help but surprise they havent. So I was hoping someone could help me.
this happened to me last night im playing normally and 2 of the lights on my control start flashing they are diagonal from each other. it would spin a couple of times then stop.
ive only been playing a few days with these batterys so i know they arent low.
Actually, that does mean that the batteries are low. To double check, press the Xbox guide button during a Xbox 360 game and look in the top left corner. It will tell you your battery charge. Trust me, 30 hours on the batteries seem to go very quickly.
He speaks the truth, i put 2 AA Duracel M3's into my pad last week and usually those brand last forever in the likes of a TV remote or an MP3 player but the 360 seems to munch them very very quickly. When you take the batteries out there's a little "meter" you can activate by pushing pressure pads on certains parts of the battery and it'll tell you how much life is left in it. When I checked mine they were down to about 20%. My Ring of Light would rotate every 3/4 minutes and eventually the screen said "Controller Disconnected, Please Reconnect."
Luckily it was Buy 1 Get 1 Free on AA batteries when I purchased them and they should keep my going until I can pick up a Play + Charge kit.
So far I havn't had any major problems....however, ocassionally when it's running, it's INCREDIBLY loud. it's like my head is inside the machine and im wearing amplifiers cranked to 1000. and of course the standard disks are way too damn hot to be normal.
