MGS1 had to be the best for me, purly for the style and atmos. It was also the birth of what MGS has since been as a 3d game instead of the 2d MG games. many years of happy gaming
Not only that, but what amazing voice overs they did for that game. Honestly, no matter how much that game ages, you can still compare the voice acting in MGS to the voice acting in MGS4 (in my opinion).
The only thing about the voices (not the acting) is the timin, as if they should have been played slightly faster or slower at times but i guess they didnt have to worry about lip syncing only head bobbing. The translation in the 2nd was messed up because the guy who did it didnt like the game and did a half assed job, personaly i dont notice it much but i could see why people might see that... Still good though.
It looks interesting but at the same time it just dosn't fit to me, if its set before MGS4 then why is he able to kick the crap outta metal gears etc but he didn't so much struggle but have a bit of a challange when in MGS4 he had to fight about 6 of them at once but in rising he is able to kick the shit outta a modified ray. I don't think it is after 4 though because then it wouldn't make sence for the PMC's to be as good as they are without SOP.
Don't get me wrong this looks like it will be a fun game to play but why a Metal Gear game? why not make a new game with all of these gameplay feature that would fit into a different universe a bit better, its almost like ZOE gameplay mixed with other slash games. I guess it would be harder for them to make a "new game" now because people aren't looking for new games at the moment, most games coming out are all sequels to astablished games
Ever since the change of developers to Platinum Games, it kinda looks a lot worse than a Konami game, and there are soo many indescrepencies. Like grayfox117 said, PMC wouldn't work as well without the patriots control and SOP. It's now set after MGS4, which means Raiden goes back to being a cyborg ninja after converting back to a normal human at the end of MGS4. And this the trailer makes it out to be Raiden looking for revenge, and pretty much the only things he has at the end of MGS4 are Rose and his son. So that makes me think they are captured or killed. Which would be terrible. I'm not looking forward to it nearly as much after that trailer was released.
I'm getting a bad feeling that the decision to make a story that takes place after MGS4 was just pulled out of there ass at the last second. It shouldn't really matter if the developer has changed they still could've made a story that takes place before Guns of the Patriots.
Anyone have the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection that might sell it to buy the new collection Metal Gear posted on their page today? or anyone that doesn't have it that will be getting this one?
