A villian simply has to be like that not like the villians nowadays who are a bunch of little misunderstood depressed emo wimps with a tragic past. And what is the best way to ruin the entire life of the same person if not by capturing a annoying princess for the 50th time forcing him to rescue and therefore ruining his entire life knowing that he will never go 2nd or 3rd base with her?

Fox McCloud and Link. I've just been a huge fan of Legend of Zelda and StarFox for a long time. Not really into Metroid games, but I do respect them as a milestone in gaming history.

personally I stand by Link. Played a lot of LOZ, owned with him in Soul Caliber 2, and kicked ass with him in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Brawl

Mario is good, Link great, but Samus is best. An inspirational lead female character who kicks alien butt and who is also a total babe? Thats a great character.

Personally, I prefer Ness from Mother 2/Earthbound, Pit from Kid Icarus, Ike from Fire Emblem, The Ice Climbers, or Link from The Legend of Zelda (The Majora's Mask One...) I figured someone would show some love for the first four...

Personally id say link. I'm a massive fan of the Legend of Zelda series, and there's something appealing about a silent protagonist who's only form of communication seems to be grunts.

Somewhere between Link and Fox. How many times has Link saved the damn universe? And Fox just seems to be beast at anything he does whether it be guns, piloting, or close quarter combat.

I would go with Yoshi, he always saves peoples butts with fluttering, eggs and ground-pounds, capable of being a caring dinosaur dealing with baby Mario, being an aggressive fighter when called upon and always happy doing whatever comes his way.
