shut up. DC has plenty of great characters, and this is coming from a very exclusive Marvel reader. Give DC their due respect. Without characters like Batman and Superman established back in the 40s, there might never have been a Marvel Comics.
Super heroes can't die. And if they do they beat death and come back 5 years later.
Reed can't die because nothing can cut the guy (seriously, I saw Wolverine's claws not puncture him. Nevermind that bullet in Civil War that was just for dramatic effect).
the difference between DC and Marvel is scope. Sure they both have their universe shattering stories, but on the day to day, Marvels hero and issues are all low level, closer to realsim than DC's normal planetary level threats.
Superman is only overpowered if the writer has him fighting and dealing w/ things Spiderman woudl take on. Superman shoudl be dealing w/ threats like Darkseid, Mongul, Heavenly Host, etc....
if you want your everyman story, read Marvel, if you want modern mythology, read DC, if you are smart and mature, read both!
I think if every fanboy who shouts "OVERPOWERED!" read Vertigo books they would get their realistic stories where people's weaknesses are their undoing and dead means dead.
Mainstream comics will always have Spider-Man young and strong, and healthy and Reed will never die, and Superboy is strong enough to punch the barrier of the universe and unmake life, and Wolverine will always heal those wounds.

That really varies from character to character. For characters like Spider-man and Daredevil, sure. But for characters like Doc Strange and the Silver Surfer (and to an extent the Fantastic Four), they regularly deal with far from low level issues. Especially if you read the New Avengers: Illuminati
Though Vertigo belongs to DC. thats why Constantine can interact with the other DC heroes. Which makes it odd when he keeps getting older and they don't.....
Dr Strange walks both levels, but SS is in the Cosmic aspect of Marvel where the stories do get pretty big and broad thinking....but even those were made long after the 'Everyman Hero' had been going a while.

Vertigo gets as far, if not farther out there at itmes. then there is Wildstorm. but both of those are now owned by DC, so it just increases the myhtology level of DC over Marvel. Marvel ofcourse has its own branches too. Max, Ultimate, etc...
but ont he whole, Marvel is known for the problemed, oppresed, angsty heroes. Dc is known for its beloved demi-gods and saviors of the planet.
the general perception of the masses in these two universe also portrays this. The peopel of Marvel are thankful, but worried and often scared of its protectors. DC's masses love and cherish their heroes. These are the generalities of the settings.
For a while I thought the typos were on purpose to allow others to think little of you and then you'd go on the warpath and prove them wrong for thinking you were an idiot.
But then I noticed you just have bad typing skills.
At first it will look like a child wrote it, but then you'd get into these high concepts and still misspell the word 'can' or mix two words together in odd ways like 'it'sli ke' or 'it'sl ike.'
We need politics too. My run was....it's hard to think of a single theme besides "Coming to Age" and "Echoes" which is what I was aiming at. That one event to do something besides sit around has spiraled out of control and will involve a great many lives into the story.
Including the Guardsmen.

I'll post something about writing soon in a journal, I read it and thought, "This is brilliant. This is me without the success! This is...life!"
Although reading Hunter S. Thompson or Transmet makes me want to go to a city take some acid and end up crying in a graveyard ala Easy Rider after a long battle with an electric snake.
Speaking of Transmet, they have intelligence enhancers in that comic...that makes me happy. I hope we get those in my lifetime and not that Timothy Leary bullshit, actual intelligence enhancers.
WHAT??!!! i turn on batman whenever i see it just cause joker always brings something new. You know how many toys there are. Well theres a lot, and joker has used lots of them. You can always expect joker to go a little more crazy, and do something more big each time.
What toys are we talking about? The ones he uses or the action figures of him?
You just said it yourself. He doesn't do anything new. he does the same thing just goes more and bigger. Still the same thing.
I've only seen Joker in a good story a few times.
**Batman The Animated Series where he actually hit Harley on purpose. **Batman The Animated Series when he went to the Joker casino he didn't own. Not the best episode but for one featuring him it was better then I expected. **Batman & Superman....not sure what series but it was the episode "World Finest" and I only liked it because of the interaction between Batman & Superman. **An an Episode from Justice League which featured him plating bombs all over Las Vegas but the ending of the second parter really messed up the episode for me.
And I even read a recent issue...well probably about a year ago by now in Detective Comics featuring Joker playing with Robin's mind during the Christmas season. Everyone said the issues was awesome and I thought it was OK but that was about it.
He uses a lot of chieldish things i should say. And i never said its the same thing, i just said that you can always expect something bigger and better from him.
