I love pokemon! I played Ruby when i was growing up, and I played it on a GameBoy SP. Recently, I bought a GameBoy Advance off of amazon, and after some searching, I bought Ruby again at Vintage Stock. I never realized how much I missed this game, and have been playing it like crazy!
Story wise no? This game was the first one to HAVE A STORY. The plots of the other games weren't really fleshed out or interesting at all.
Professor: Go find out about pokemon! Rival: I'm gonna beat you! Team X: We're evil! We want to rule the world! Rival: I'll help you... for now. Team X: We will use the vaguely established powers of the [Legendary Pokemon] to rule the world! You: Catch pokemon, beat boss. Everyone: You rule!
But Black and White had actual character development and the rule the world thing was under the guise of a free all pokemon philosophy which was very interesting
Yeah, it didn't really stick to me. I still feel proud for saving that Ampharos's life in Pokemon Silver. Can't we just agree to disagree because I don't want to start a forum war?
The story in Black and White is definitely the most complex, well-developed and thought-provoking. The villains dare to question the very core mindset of the franchise, and although it's obviously Ghetsis manipulating everybody so that he can rule the world (of course!), N truly believes in his mission (even if he is a ponce). Plus, they were ready to forcibly release all boxed Pokemon and that's the most terrifying thing I've ever heard in a Pokemon game.
I was excited at the awesome ending it had. Then out of nowhere, I was charged with more duties on the East side of Unova... I thought that part was kinda lame.
