I haven't been here for a year, and you only jump 150 posts? You people are slow.
Also, how is the Everything Gundam? I finally have some actual series on my shelf, instead of just the MG's. I've found both 0080 and Char's Counterattack at a used bookstore, and a friend got me F91 for christmas.
I'm being sarcastic, Treize, please don't kill me.
I'm kinda happy with my collection right now. Only series that I haven't seen that I want to are Zeta and 0083. My buddy has 08th MS Team and Wing, and I'm just waiting for a complete set of G to come up cheap.
There was supposed to be a whole other season to the original MSG. It wasn't pulling the ratings they wanted, though, so a good deal got cut and rewritten.
0083 is worth it, but Zeta not so much other than for the character Jerid, who is awesome for his shear determination and dedication to his goals. Nothing phases that guy.

This is exactly why I'm looking forward to the next Unicorn episode - no spoilers please for those who have read Unicorn already but it sure looks like Riddhe Marcenas will become the Unicorn equivalent of Jerid Mesa.
Really? I've only seen the first two eps but if there is a good character like Jerid I will catch up ASAP.
In reply to Gattling, #9493: There is one small part near the end of 0083 that I didn't like, they tried to shoe-horn in a love triangle that made no sense, but you can just ignore it and the show moves on from that quickly. On the whole it is easily in the same league as 8th Team and Wing in my opinion, and would give them a run for their money were it not for the goofy love triangle.
Wing was one of my least favorite Gundam series, I think mainly just because I got tired of seeing it everywhere and everyone acting like it was the Final Fantasy 7 of anime.
Either that or I'm just more of a Universal Century girl, lol
Nothing wrong there. At the very least, though few reached the same levels of absurdity of some of the other series, UC Mobile Suits had about the best variety.
See, that's what's great about the Leo MS. You just build one and accessorize for the moment. You wanna fight in space, space Leo. Wanna fight in the desert, desert Leo. Need to take to the air, high mobility Leo. Need to defeat Gundams, have Leos shoot missiles at colonies. No need for variety, just accessories.
Oh man I love the Zaku! Thats what we're talking about right? Oh the Leo. Lol I'm just being annoying. I like the Leo as well. I personally like when a Anime isn't afraid to kill off a character. Code Geass did this and Gundam 00 kinda. Its awesome when nobody is safe. Gundam Wing had a partially annoying plot shield part for me.
Yea but they were already out the door by actions they took during the War. But 00 did kill some, but surprisingly, Code Geass, did it so well and invoked major emotions when they did so.

There's a difference between killing off a character to further the story and killing off a character to show the audience that the situation is serious. Gundam typically tends toward the latter, and in the case of 00 with Lock-on it's actually worse. They killed off the character then brought him back for marketing purposes. WTF? In UC it is common for most of the characters to make it all the way to the end then many of them get cut down in the last battle. It would be moving if it wasn't so predictable.
Personally, I don't like to see characters die, it's almost always for the wrong reason, and thus a waste. I consider character dedeaths to be a writing cop-out.
