mmamania.com had a pretty nasty picture of it. It didn't actually get ripped off, but it was sticking straight up in a way that toes at rest should not be.
I heard that the current strikeforce champ of lightweight might hit up ufc. I would love to see him in action against edgar. That would be a great fight.
Dana just confirmed on UFC Tonight that Rampage will honour his contract that that his final fight before parting ways with the company will be a bout against Shogun later this year. I'll pick Shogun to win that one.........
This was the fight that Rampage originally wanted for UFC Japan. I'm glad he's getting it, and it will be a good one........but it'll be sort of sad to see him go. I've been a fan for quite some time........
I just wasn't a fan of his actions after he lost his last fight. Plus he just has no heart left in the sport...he looked so out of shape when he faught bader.
There was a knee injury that kept him from training at full speed, but he didn't want to pull out from fighting in Japan.
I don't know why Rampage has gone all sour grapes, but it pisses me off. He tried to rip on Joe Silva for making him fight wrestlers recently, but break down his last five fights:
1) Rashad Evans - Long overdue after their TUF season 2) Lyoto Machida - Not a wrestler, almost beat him anyway 3) Matt Hammill - Never got him down, beat the crap out of him, still couldn't finish 4) Jon Jones - Title shot, duh 5) Ryan Bader - Relatively late booking, everyone else had opponents
It's one thing to criticize your boss, it's another to criticize someone who's just doing their job. Exceptionally well I might add.
I am hoping nick diaz returns at some point. He did lose that fight to condit and I saw no controversy. Hopefully or I'm wishing he'll make a comeback in 2013.
This was stupidity writ large. The guy who died should've tapped like a motherfucker, and the kid who applied the hold should've known better than to leave it on that long.........
Maybe ignorance more than stupidity. If they're just wrestling fans and not mma, odds are neither of them realized how lethal a RNC is and they were just playing into what they see on wrestling shows all day: guys getting choked near unconsciousness and magically summoning more strength to fight out of it. Hell, they probably called it a Sleeper Hold.
If they do they'll be eating those words in short order. MMA isn't the "sport" that glorifies beating people with foreign objects, knocking out referees to get away with fouls and illegal attacks, and all around making light of human beings giving each other concussions and spine injuries.
I say give the shot to Hunt.If they put Mir, Velasquez wont have and opponent. And that put him on the shelf for a while. Plus it would be epic to see those 2 slugging it out!!!!!
it really sucks because I was looking forward to that fight! but oh well. I guess I'll just wait around for edgar vs maynard 4...I know its not official but damn it there 1-1-1 There needs to be a 2 in there somewhere!
I agree. Mir's racked up the wins against quality opponents. If Cain hadn't lost to JDS in such devastating fashion, they'd probably have given it to him........
I say give it to Mir. Then give Cain Struve as a replacement in a #1 contender fight, Hunt can fight Bigfoot Silva, and then Big Country and Tim Sylvia in a fight for pink slips.
