Don't know about u but i think there needs to be more metal on the radio. There's not enough. I'm sick of hearing freakin Nickelback all the time, we need more metal!
Metal is hard to listen to. It's aggressive, fast, and best understood at loud volumes. I'm not trying to be elitist or nothing, but most people can't handle it. Also, Metal tends to have very anti-social song matter. It's difficult to find sponsors that will advertise on a metal channel, and radio thrives on it's sponsors.
1) Atreyu Nu-Metal. Most metal heads distance themselves from Nu-Metal, because it's trendy. Metal is anything but trendy 2) As I Lay Dying See Above 3) Arch Enemy A worthy choice. 4) Unearth I don't know much about these guys, but i'm told they're Nu-Metal 5) Drop Dead, Gorgeous Can't rightly say they aren't metal, cus i don't know who they are

You're making a classic mistake. Alice in Chains is hard rock. Jerry Cantrell's bluesy style isn't really fast enough to be metal (or heavy enough to make up for the lack of speed).
I used to make the same mistake with Faith No More. People might have called them Funk Metal, and really, all Nu-Metal owes them a huge debt for "Epic", but they were ultimately just a rock band. Me liking them AND being a metal head doesn't change what they were.
Selling out? Wouldn't i have to actually make something to sell out? The way i see it, I get to play babysitter now. I'm not sure where that makes me a sell out, but you're entitled to your own opinion.
You're not wrong, those bands are Nu-Metal. Metal is Metal. However, Nu-Metal has about the same reputation as Glam Metal had back in the 80's. Ratt and Cinderella might have had some tasty licks, but the metal community in general shunned them because they took metal and infused it with some trend (in that case, women's clothes. In Nu-Metal's case, it's a hip-hop influence) that they, the metal community at large, disagreed with.
Their early work was much more metal than Black Hole Sun. Chris Cornell used to be quite the screamer. Whenever i hear Audioslave now, it makes me wince, cus he's lost all the singing talent he had.
