I have heard a few bands like that. I guess the thing that makes it mind boggling is the simple fact that someone had to like the vocals at some point.
This is purely my opinion, but it sounds a whole fuckload better. This too-clean Andy Sneap bullshit that heaps of bands are trying to pull with their production really turns me off, because it eschews atmosphere just to make the guitars fucking louder.
non squeaky clean good dm just from last year alone.

Anyone listen to the new Torche yet? Need to give it another listen or two before I decide how I feel about it. Definitely a few tracks that stood out immediately though in all the right ways.
Found this in a CD shop in London. Didn't even know it existed yesterday morning and now I have one of 5,000 in the world! And that's why I love CD shopping in London.
Also picked up the new Napalm Death, Ministry, Secrets of the Moon and Anathema albums. Gonna grab the new Paradise Lost, Huntress and Moonspell albums tomorrow. METAL OVERLOAD.
oops posted that in the wrong thread...oh well since I'm here I'll pose a question. What was your first metal album and when was the last time you listened to it?
For me it was Metallica's Master of Puppets and I last listened to it in its entirety about 3 months ago.
