Ok, need people's help here. Is it just me or since the last update has everyone's games been crashing as soon as you try to go underwater? Swimming is becoming a really dodgy prospect. And as I play an Argonain swimming is really useful to me.
Haven't touched Skyrim in a few days.Diablo 3 has occupied my time but I will get on and try out mounted combat. Bethesda seems to be taking all the ideas from the Game Jam video and putting them in the game. Here's me hoping for spears, crossbows, giant mudcrubs and lycanthropy skill.
Plus a whole load more new kill moves for other weapons. Including some great ones for unarmed and a favourite of mine when using a two handed weapon that involves headbutting your opponent into a bloody pulp.
Two new factions: The Vampire-Demon Things (name unknown), and the Dawnguard; Obviously a new questline - this goes without saying; New player ability - can become a Vampire-Demon Thing (involves feeding); Crossbows added; There appears to be a new undead player mount; Dragons/Vampire-Gargoyles can now dive underwater; Another Elder Scroll will be useable at some stage, and the guy that sounds like the leader of the Vampire-Demon Things appears to want it; A new dimensional plane will be accessible - it looks like something out of Darksiders; Scamps appear to have returned; There appears to be some kind of giant troll at 0:57; A new type of enemy, or some sort of boss character at 1:03;
There was a book talking about vampires who would jump at you from below ice and judging from that one scene in the trailer we're going to be experiencing that.
The map shown when they mention the Scroll is the mountain range between High Rock and Skyrim. High Rock in the days of Daggerfall had Vampire problems and the architecture of the region is very Gothic inspired, the two castles we see definitely have Gothic influence. Bethesda's DLC's seem to be putting us in all those mountain ranges around the region that we can't go into. Besides this one we still have the Eastern one with Morrowind and the Southeast and Southwest ranges with Cyrodiil and Hammerfell.
Both Crossbows and Vampire Shapeshifting from the Gamejam video are present. Whether or not Spears are is to be seen. It should be noted a leak earlier said that Crossbows and the Snow Prince would be involved in the DLC. Seeing as the first part is correct we could assume the latter is possibly true.
The giant troll enemy at :57 is strikingly similar to Karstag from Bloodmoon. Probably the same species.
The dimensional Vampire portal probably goes to a Plane of Oblivion. Namira and Vaermina, the Daedric Lord's of Darkness and Nightmares respectively, are the two popular guesses as to whose plane it is. My money is on Namira.
Whatever those vampire things are, I want to be one. Fuck the Dawnguard, those things are hardcore awesome.
The undead horse makes Shadowmere look like a bitch.
That huge ice giant/troll/ogre thing also reminded me of Bloodmoon. Either way, I can't wait to kill it.
I don't know how/if the Snow Prince will be involved, but I can't wait to find out.
The dragon diving into the water certainly interested me. Entirely new interactions like that are always fun. I liked the vampire demon thing that burst through the wall as well. Much more impressive than a Draugr waking up in a coffin.
