RT Guyz, sorry to break it to you, Just drop it now. You are wasting your time.
Number 1, the game looks gay, it ruins the mood of everything. Number 2, the jokes need to be worked on, they just arnt funny. All slap stick. Number 3, the guy in the blue armour and the one with the sniper voices dont match what the character looks like. Number 4, you know the sayen "jump the sinking ship"............hint. Number 5, dont ignore what your best hit is (RVB), it's like KFC, going for hamburgers as there number one all of a sudden. WHO THE FUCK GO's TO KFC FOR BURGERS!.
Actually, I do think this is a valid topic... Now point 1 of yours I have no comment for cause its a matter of personal opinion and I rather not have this devolve into a "NO U!" thing.
2 and 3 are of my concern as well... the problem is with 2, what else can they do with just four episodes? We all know Burnie doesn't do short plots too well and the plot he tried to fit in to episode 2, while a good and interesting concept, will not work with just 4 episodes. Point 3 of yours is about Joel, yeah... he really doesn't fit the part at all and keeps reverting back to Caboose mode, and it hurts trying to see the character as a totally different character. RT needs to outsource more when it comes to voices cause really. there is only so much a few people can do. Point 5 of yours is interesting since it brings up so many mixed feelings for me... On one hand, I think RvB needed to end a bit ago and the forced ending that is building up to be all squashed in one episode is just pointless... also RT really should work on expanding what they do machinima with besides comedy. We all saw how great Burnie's plot and serious writing could be when they did Out of Mind. But on the other hand, the end of RvB might mean a lot more mini-series with no substance and throwaway jokes like PANICS and 1-800-Magic.
To be honest. I like it. RvB had its ups and downs during the beginning. I say give it time. I love the game personally. I've been playing it a lot. So yeah. For you guys at RT. Keep it up. Good series starting
It is not because RvB was really easy and fast to understand, that they have to use the exact same formula for 1-800-MAGIC Let it time to sink... and if you're that impatient to understand, i'd like to see a persone like you in philosophy classes.
I think to have such strong feelings after 2 episodes is a bit premature.
Also the saying "stick with what works." I like that form of comedy.
Caboose was also my favorite character, this obviously isnt supposed a major serious machinma so it brings a bit more comedy into the light when you expect to hear some different voice from Bidderman but then you hear somthing else.
I dunno, id stick it out for a while. RvB is quite an act to follow up, I dont think the first pitch they swing at is going to leave the park then again it might. We'll see.
Just give it some time, I like 1-800-MAGIC so far and it has made me laugh, and also the game is pretty fun, you just have to get use to using the magic.
Remember that SH didn't hit its stride until 7-9, and when they got into lampooning sitcoms and TV dramas it really stuck. I stayed with the series only out of loyalty to the RT crew, and I thought the ending was rewarding.
As a mini-series, I just don't know. I'm hesitant to judge the series from the second episode, but it's hard to make us care when everything's pretty fragmented. There's a plan, I KNOW they must have a plan, but I don't think they're doing a terrific job of conveying that to us.
But NAMEISTAKEN, while I agree with what you said, this isn't the first pitch RT has swung at. They made SH and PANICS, which in my humble opinion was 1 for 2. PANICS didn't reach me, though I thought the production was great and the concept was cool. I think RT is getting caught up in concept before content. They have good ideas and their execution is solid, but the material is tough.
For voice acting, I agree that Joel's voice acting is distracting, not because he does it badly, but because Joel did such a great job with Caboose that he's basically typecast to be the loveable idiot (Caboose, Wade). It's admirable that they're trying to make him the lead in MAGIC, but fans of RT (and I'm pretty sure they're the vast majority of MAGIC viewers) hear that voice and think of Caboose. Maybe they should have gotten another cast member to voice the lead. Would we really want to have them cast outside of RT? I wouldn't like it that much, because I'm used to these guys and I like to hear them. I merely think Joel is miscast.
This is long and I apologize. Let's give it more time and hope that they smooth this out in the coming episodes. I have faith.
I understand you are voicing your opinion and I respect that. But you should put into perspective that this is something Completely new that RT is doing now that they are ending RvB: BGC. Also this machinima is a chance for them to use new technologies to further enhance the machinima experience that we love to watch. Sure this series has it's flaws, but then again so does RvB: BGC.
Lets face it, RT isn't going to please everyone. So you can voice your opinions (to which I'm sure RT is taking into consideration), or you can just not watch 1-800-MAGIC.
Yeah I agree with Dman82. I was a bit suprised when i heard the voice of Andy the Bomb coming out of the RNA Human. but if you don't like the stuff that RT supplies you with just don't watch it, because at first I didn't care too much for 1-800-MAGIC until the second episode. I did find it funny though that Joel does Michael J. Caboose and Michael Bitterman.

Well in someways I agree with you, but I think that the show is awesome. I know its nothing like RVB but as much as we love RVB its still good to have a varaiety of things to watch. Cause RVB is always going to be there. I think that it was a turn for the best and give the guys some slack. They try hard enough as it is without everyone hassiling them whenever they stray away from redvsblue. Just chill out and enjoy what your getting buds, You might learn to like it.

As much as I dislike Magic, this topic is hilarious. Yes, Roosterteeth is going to shut down a production that someone is obviously paying them money for just because some random fan thinks they are wasting time.
i dont have much to say, but i think its pretty cool so far, its got some funny jokes, especially with the trolls. many people have already said let it sink in, and i completely agree.
yeah. I kinda agree with some ppl on here. try making a larger series thats more serious. like use Halo 3 to make a more realistic series like Band Of Brothers or something. sorry if that was off topic. just had to let it out haha
Well, they're not going to be able to use Halo 3 until the game is officially released, so I'm thinking 1-800-MAGIC is to keep us occupied while waiting for the Halo 3 RvB. And I'm fine with that because 1-800-MAGIC is awesome.
Just because they are being paid does not mean they aren't still making it for the love of machinima, but they probably are just using SR because they were paid to use it. But it doesn't really bother me, it's a good series.
I agree with jd_demon: what is the big deal about someone making something they get paid to make? I personally don't see a problem with it . . . . if someone gave me a really nice painting or a nice piece of jewelry, I wouldn't refuse it because the artist got paid to make it.

Do you dislike all movies made by the major motion picture studios because the cast and crew got paid? Do you automatically dislike any book whose author didn't write for free?
Yeah, god forbid that the RoosterTeeth team actually MAKE MONEY at this. God forbid that they try anything besides what you're used to. God forbid that they try to live off anything besides the RvB store and sponsor dollars. God forbid that you not be able to pat yourself on the back because you only watch shows made by artists who do it for "the 'love'", and not for "the pay".
I think it is quite humorous that people resort to insulting another person if there views are different. Lots of people in the forum don’t start throwing names and insults at people to get there message across.
