Primus is popular band with a sort of cult following. They have been said to be one of the best musical bands since Rush and both bands have toured together. They've recently popped back into mainstream with their song John the Fisherman since it was put in Guitar Hero 2. Now lets here what you think of them.
Y'all know the drill, no trolling or spamming. If you dont like them, fine, just dont be a dick about it. If someone does say they dont like primus, fine. Leave them be. Its their opinion. There's nothing wrong with argument, im just trying to keep this thread asshole free.
Favorite Song: Jerry was a Race Car driver Favorite Album: Frizzle Fry
you must be smoking crack... Les has the perfect voice for Primus. His vocals compliment his bass playing which in turn is the root of their music. Primus holds a place in my heart as being at the top of my top 10 experimental bands list. Full of talent and enjoyment.... what can one ask more for?
Primus is more music oriented anyway. Having good vocals isn't their aim. I like how Les does different voices for most of his songs, especially in Tommy the Cat.
Primus has always been a good band and if you dudes dont like Les's voice then i banish u. seriously the most wicked guitar riffs from a lot of bands that i have listened to...and Primus still rocks
i love Primus. most of my friends though don't. especially my friend easton who only likes a band if they have good vocals. if the guitar and drums, and bass kick ass (Primus for example) but the vocals sucks, he doesn't want anything to do with 'em.
I have to say that 'Wynona Had a Big Brown Beaver' is my favorite song. . I've actually never seen Primus live, but I have seen Colonel Claypool's Freeless Flying Frog Brigade. ...And a few other side projects of his.
Yeah Primus is great, one of the most highly underrated bands out there.
And I agree it wouldn't be Primus with out Les' vocals the way they are. One of my fav tracks is "Is it Luck?". I love the micro machines esque way he fast talks the middle part. His voice makes that song what it is.
I don't know a ton of their songs, but I just love listening to Les Claypool. He's such an amazing bassist. He's an epic win and seems like a really down to earth guy, too.
I know that Primus is awesome, everyone should know that...but I never think someone is really, truly fantastic until I see their wider scope of work - and Les has it. He wrote the theme songs for South Park and Robot Chicken! Both of them are on diminished scales, for crying out loud.
One of my favorite tracks from Primus is "Too Many Puppies."
I love Primus. The first song I ever heard by them was "Too Many Puppies" back when I was smaller and I thought it was the best thing ever. Plus- I think they're quite amazing live. The stage set-up with the giant blow up astronaut was highly amusing. I love To Defy the Laws of Tradition
