Child's Play Charity Dinner [ 1 ] [ 2 ]

This is the first I've ever heard of Child's play, but every year my mother and I go around our neighborhood and collect toys and donate them to hospitals all over LA (mostly east LA and South Central). We also donate many ourselves. I even invented a toy that could be used easily by children lying down in bed (a magnetic puzzle and paper doll board that stands on it's own at an angle toward the child- with lots of magnets and stuff to play with)- and I make a few every year to donate. The problem is they are really only fun for children under eight. And they're more fun for girls.

So, I don't need no stinkin' trek and dinner party. I do my part on my own.

I thought that it costs around $5,000 per table at that event....who would go besides the big whigs in the gaming industry?

According to their website, the corporate table sponsorships are the big bucks at $5,000.

Individual seating is $150 ($60 dinner + $90 contribution to the charity). So it is still fairly pricey, but it is a fundraising dinner.

I'm thinking of going. I think it'd just be fun to dress up for the evening and hang out with a bunch of awesome gamers, regular Joes and big whigs alike. Also what's not to like about helping out sick kids? :)

I, for one, would like to see less posts about not being able to go and more about people that are attending. I think only a couple people so far have mentioned that they were interested in attending the event.

I would, if I lived in Seattle... I guess I'll just have to force my brother to go and then live vicariously through him when he comes home for Chistmas with some coffee for me this time...*shrugs*

I cannot believe how people are being such assbags for such a good cause, If I don't attend in person I'll be making another donation on top of the donation I made earlier this year.

For those of you going "Gee willikers, If only I was in seattle I'd go to the dinner." you do realize that you can still donate to child's play via paypal, or mailing them cheques directly.(which can be sent to the hospital in your area.)

Donate if you can, even if it's just a dollar..
