I love The Dresden Files, but I am worried about the direction that the series is taking. I always preorder the new book, and I'm excited to read the next one (I don't even remember if there is going to be, but I feel like the story could go on). But I feel like there have been too many 'changes' in such a short time that there didn't need to be. I dont know, I should stop complaining. Love the series, can't wait for more. Star Wars references ftw!
I don't know how many times this thread has answered it, but if we're lucky there will be six more books for a total of twenty Dresden Files. Then there will be a trio of superepicmegaexpearmageddon books to end all hyperbole. Right now he has a scifi novel on the back burner, and the interviews I've heard sound like he's going to do that after cold days.
Ah yes, now that this thread has been somewhat resuscitated...
Jim has finally finished Cold Days. A release date will be announced after the editor does their thing. Also, the recently released paperback version of Ghost Story is supposed to have a 2 chapter preview of Cold Days. I'll probably hit up a bookstore later today to confirm this.
i was disappointed bc apparently a new book didn't come out this spring/summer apparently. I've been busy with work/school so I forgot about it Hopefully that book will come out soon so I can dive into it
So. Go to amazon.co.uk and you can read maybe 50 pages of Cold Days. You get the first 7 or so and then they're spaced randomly throughout the book in groups of 2 or 3. It's Jaw Droppingly Amazing. Who wants spoilers?
I went and looked on amazon.co.uk and it only had the first six pages :(. I can't decide if I want to know or not...I don't think my heart can take another shock-fest like Changes or a feel-fest like Ghost Story.
So Jim just posted chapter 1 and will supposedly be posting a chapter a week till the book comes out. I have to say, those 6 pages posted on Amazon.co.uk really missed out on the best stuff in chapter 1.
Just finished Cold Days. Awesome book. I didn't like Ghost Story much. So I was a little worried, but this one was right up there with the best ones. So many answers and surprises and revelations coming fast and furious. And after the ending I both love and hate Jim Butcher.
