Even though i've already played and beaten the ps2 version, this still looks really beautiful and it'll be interesting to use the wiimote as a paintbrush and whatnot. I just hope they make a second one soon.

Well, it was modeled after an actual Japanese religion. So it was a pretty weird religion.

Good thing about Okami, the long story. It has at least 60 hours of gameplay. And when I was in Orochis lair, I thought it was near the end of the game, but it just kept on coming.

And I read a review In a magazine where the only thing they could find negative about it was the long intro.

Unless the new Wii version sells like crazy, I can't see a sequal in the works.

The original just didn't sell nearly enough copies.

I thought I read somewhere that a sequel is unlikely to happen due to the closure of Clover Studios. Hopefully that's wrong and Capcom should still hold the rights to the game. My only concern is who would they hire to design the sequel? I guess as long as the talent is there, it really doesn't matter. Just don't want to see a great franchise get dragged through the mud.

Oh, and yes. I will be playing Okami for the Wii even though I played it on PS2.

Well the good news is that clover no longer belongs to Capcom. Nintendo actually bought out Clover and kept them open as far as i'm aware. And with as much power Nintendo has behind it and testing out the water with Okami on the wii, maybe they'll decide to go through with a sequel.

That is great news to hear.

As a side note: Wouldn't it be sweet if the development teams of Okami teamed up with the team that
does Zelda? Nintendo's powerhouse would get new ideas and Clover will have the reliablility of the
Zelda team.

Definitely, a lot of people were saying that when Okami first came out on the Ps2 that it really reminded them of Zelda. It definitely has a similar feel and the fishing is always badass.

i wish I could do fan art like these people.

Who here thinks that they might add something new to the game? Maybe additional side quests.

Yeah, they already said on their site that there'll be additional content due to the fact the wiimote opens up a bunch of new avenues.

man, i'm pumped about this one. when i first saw a trailer for it i didn't look at the system it was for and was like "sweet, an awesome crazy japanese game that'll put the wiimote to good use". and then i saw that it was for ps2 and died a little. now that part is alive again

It is about a sun goddess that is transformed into a white wolf.

She is awakened by a tree goddess to rejuvenate her saplings, (which ensures peace and happiness.)

The reason this has happened is that an ancient monster has awakened.

The rest is to topsy turvy to explain.

Well... considering that the new game is out and there seems to be
no new people posting, I figured this thread is pretty much a zombie.
I'm just really pissed that people don't give the game its credit.
I am a Zelda fanatic, but Okami was on par with Twilight Princess in my opinion.

I remember back then when they said how awesome this game would be for the Wii or DS and the developers said that they would never consider putting it on either console. So, when I found out that its on the Wii, I couldnt help but laugh. Anyone else remember this?

All I remember is the developers putting it on the ps2 because the revolution was delayed so they couldn't get their game out on time.

I remember that too. Everyone i knew was thinking about how badass it would be on the wii and all the producers shot down those rumours completely. Interesting...
