slow at playing games is slow. i'm just saving miss marvel. so far i'm not to found of the fusions. i'd rather stroll in with wolverine and claw hordes of enemies to death.
Two words.
Storm. Deadpool.
Best fusion in the game. Ok, so it's the same fusion as a bunch of others (the moving around destroying everything in your path as another team member throws bombs/fire/sound at you) but you control a fucking Tornado filled with bombs as it takes out robots.
...there's a lot of robots in this game. Not as many as there were Brood in XML2 but enough for you to get tired of them. (Goddamn I grew tired of fighting Brood.)
Yeah, I missed the 4 possible costumes from UA. I mean, sure the costumes seem like a small thing, but they were really fun. Having only one alternate felt lame. Why improve so much and dial back on that? And when you get Nick Fury in your party his only option is that ridiculous final boss costume which is so incredibly homosexual.
I've never played MUA or MUA2. And I don't think I ever will. Something about those games just doesn't call my attention, at least, enough to spend a full game's price on each. I guess it's because I'm just not as big a comic geek as you guys.
Sister is a comic book nerd and she HATES these games. She doesn't like the button mashing gameplay. I hoped the Fusion feature would lessen the button mashing some and add strategy and depth to gameplay.
....it didn't. It's just another name for Ultimate Powers that have been in the last three games (and none of them ever top that destruction walk Juggernaut had...hell no attack's ever matched Juggernaut's Rage attack where he got stronger and bigger with each hit. Goddamn I loved Juggernaut...gotta unlock Hulk and see if he's fun.)

Oh and for Erok points right at the beginning Nick calls Wolverine "Shorty." Would have never have paid attention to it (it's just calling Wolverine short) if it wasn't for that discussion here. Made me smile.

I actually think Penance and Daredevil are stronger than Venom. In fact, Mr. Fantastic may be stronger than Venom too.

I don't agree with anything about that list. Luke Cage and Juggernaut were two of my favorites. Juggernaut has some specials that just fucking lay waste to shit and Cap is always a welcome addition to a team. Meanwhile, I didn't much care for Thor or Thing, and Jean couldn't stay alive for 5 seconds. I mean, I guess everyone has different preferences and playing styles, but I don't like anything about that list. Also, Goblins specials are all really fun. That's the only reason I use him.
I haven't played with everyone yet. Who I have played with all seem strong enough. ...except for Venom. I did not like Venom at all. Too weak for a tank, too limited for shooter, too slow for hit and run. He's got nothing going for him.
But that special with him and Goblin is fucking sweet to look at.
I, personally, favor a team of bruisers. Guys who can take punishment and beat the shit out of the other guys relatively quickly. Luke Cage, Juggernaut, Ms. Marvel because she fills that role and can also fly (good to have a flyer), and then Deadpool, because you absolutely have to have Deadpool in your team. I can understand why people would favor a more balanced team, but I like my approach.
I agree with Captain America's side. And I personally don't like the idea of turning villains out on heroes. But ultimately....Civil War's actually a small part of the plot. It's not a huge decision. The biggest thing?
Cap's stronger than Iron Man. Reed and Cage are about the same. Songbird is stronger than Iron Fist....but Iron Fist heals people.
And so the choice isn't all that damned important any how.
Oh, and so with my brief experiments the Fantastic Four are the best well-rounded group in the game. And they get a niffty bonus too. That's a good reason for picking Pro-Reg....but Ben's gone until like Mid-game anyway...so....fuck it who's side do you agree with more? Pick that way.
I like balancing my team. I can't stop it. I have roles that must be filled in a team. I can turn off that desire for a well-balanced team (like if I want to play with a favorite character of mine) but usually I spend 5-7 minutes at the team creation screen figuring out who would balance well with the other characters.
And in UA1 (not so much in UA2 so far) I'd go completely anal and only have a team that would team up together. Like Ghost Rider, Spider-Man, Iceman, and Daredevil wouldn't team up because Ghost Rider kills people. But Ghost Rider, Blade, Dr. Strange, and Wolverine would team up.
well then i might as well beat the game on regular on the side i don't like and then beat it on the side i like on hardest. on a side note it seems the regular difficulty in the MUA was way harder than it is in this game. i remember whole levels where i'd lose one if not two guys and would have to fight the boss short handed.
.....hmm...only ever lost a guy like 3 times. One was Goblin and the other one was Sue...twice (that's when I shelved her and haven't played with her since).
I think it is easier but I'm watching my health bar more in this one because there are significantly less health orbs floating around. And these games have always had easy boss fights but there's something to be said about The Tinkerer. The camera plus his AOE attacks equals pain.
...until we realized his AOE attacks were largely fire based and Human Torch is immune to fire damage. Then we just tanked Human Torch at his legs until he went down.
Speak of the devil, I'll be playing MUA2 for the second time in my life tonight. On 360 (or PS3, not sure). Just saying.
Also, if any family members live near or in the vicinity of Dallas Texas and don't have anything to do tomorrow afternoon, I'm shooting a version of the opening to Reservoir Dogs (with Mr. Orange and Mr. White) and my Mr. Orange just dropped out because his fucking dad died. Rough. For him, mostly. But seriously, I'm trying all my options at this point short of standing on the street corner with a cardboard "Actor Wanted" sign.
I'd do it, but, you know...Pacific Ocean and all that.
As for the Ultimate Alliance 2 talk, Deadpool and Juggernaut were my favourites from day one. Fucking love using them. Juggernaut's abilities aren't exactly what they were in XML2 but they're still good for absolutely monstering the shit out of enemies. Other ones I find really handy are Thor (his hammer sweep is fucking devastating), Penance (something about him is fucking nuts), Goblin (glider. And on the ground I like him too), Daredevil and Cap (need I say more), and the fucking Thing (THIS MAN HAS SAVED MY ARSE SO OFTEN. His buff power renders him virtually invulnerable).
And now that the DLC has come out I'm loving Cable.
But yeah, only two costumes is shit, especially considering one of those costumes has the potential to be retarded (coughDeadpoolcough)
