It's also something that happens at every press conference ever. So faulting Microsoft for it, when it literally happens every year for every type of conference like that, for every company, is a bit silly.
If you want to fault them, there are many other things to pick from.
Are we talking about a Flash Clapping Mob for 'The One'? Posers who really don't know what they are clapping for, just happy to be with others and clapping off on a new product?

So what if it was MS employees. I bet they were ones who had nothing better to do than to show up and clap. It's like whoever rings the opening bell on the stock exchange. Some crusty old fart or fartess 'rings the bell' and a bunch of plebes stand around clapping like something uber special just happened.
I never said that, just that one reason many gamer are pissed is because this announcement is not aimed at them. Don't get me wrong, it annoys me too and what they have announced does not make me hopeful, but I also understand why MS would want to conduct this reveal in the way they did. I think I'll wait until E3 before I start proclaiming this as the death of the Xbox as some people are doing.
