All but my last source has been from Phil Harrison, Corporate VP of MS, and my last source was another VP of MS.
The Red-Ray player is new to the Xbox, and the platform is new tech and the OS is binary fresh. The Game DVR will be extra hardware and I'm confidant that MS isn't going to be giving it away. The Kinect is no longer an option and must be purchased with the package whether I want it or not.
All of it adds up to a high maintenance bitch.
The 360 getting another 5 years indicates to me that MS isn't going to focus on the hardcore gamer for the Xboned. Sure, games can be played, and there is that nifty Game DVR (I'm thinking that it is just a DVR, but anyway...), but it sure does feel like MS is moving on and setting the gamer aside.
Also, how many games are going to be ready for the Xboned within the first year? What is the flagship title going to be to push the Xboned for gamers? Minecraft, Family Edition? Farmville in Space where you go and colonize other systems using either hydroponics or try to scratch out a farm with alien dirt on a weather hostile planet? MMO Tetris where you can hear and see your opponents across the net as they anguish about getting a fucked up block?
Greg isn't feeling any love from MS, and he will go look for another bitch to fuck around with.
Let's see what Gamespot is finding out about the PS vs MS debate...
Well, PS is winning 87-12, and PS didn't even show you a console at their announcement.
Thank goodness MS has the 360 to fall back on.
I'm wondering how much I'll be able to get a system for this fall. $150 for new, $90 refurbed? Wonder how many free games they'll through in... Bet Kinect will be $50 (instead of the $100 it is now), just to get folks used to having it.
The only reason I'd want a Kinect attachment is to be able to customize the voice commands to turn the console off and on. X-Bitch, ACTIVATE and X-Bitch, FUCK OFF sound like good key-phrases to me.
GURL LEMME SEE DAT ASS should turn on Netflix.
With all this console reveal drama, maybe we should wait to have a real educated discussion until after E3 when MS and Sony show off their consoles for real. Both sides will go more in-depth and MS will be able to debunk or validate the rumors then. Sony will actually present something significant, and Nintendo won't even really be there to distract the younger crowd.
I could get behind some of those types of commands!
But, what's the fun of sitting back on your hands and waiting? Dammit, I like to bitch, and by golly, there's something to bitch about! And I can bitch about things as they become breaking news! It's not often I can jump in during a shitstorm and do my own stirring!
Give an old man a break!
*sheesh*
As far as info goes, I have been presenting what an official from MS has put out there. It is quite apparent that you will not be able to buy a game from your friend.
Assassin's Creed 4 Battlefield 4 Call of Duty: Ghosts - 11.5.2013 Destiny Bungie Dying Light FIFA Soccer 14 Forza Motorsport 5 Madden 25 NBA Live 14 Need for Speed Rivals Quantum Break Ryse Thief EA Sports UFC Watch Dogs
Looks like Grandma is gonna be skoolin' nubz in CoD.
seriously, though, real talk, none of my devil's advocate shit...
Xbox One looks like shit. It's a hinderance to the gamers that have supported MS for years. It's system for used games goes against the ideas of the free market, it's specs are far too close to what the PS4 will be using, and yet it's still inferior in that aspect. The only redeeming quality is that I like the design of the box.
Also, Wii U masterace (despite it having no games)
"Feeling a bit on the evil side? This team is for you."
Doesn't Church give us a whole speech about not hating a group of people just because we're told to or something?
I mean all we ever see of these guys is Project Freelancer breaking down their door and busting all their shit. From what we're lead to believe Project Freelancer was always in the morally ambiguous part of the moral spectrum. The Insurrectionists seem to be much more of a well oiled team than Project Freelancer ever was, at the very least they seem to care about each other more.
Hey everyone, while I’m guessing most of the people who watch these videos aren’t lawyers, I wanted to at least see if there were any out there who would be interested in giving me a hand. I’ve been trying to contact Machinima.com for about a week and a half regarding some important matters and have not only been unable to get a reply from their legal department (which this concerns), but I can’t even get a DATE when I can expect to hear from them. The last time I showed patience with Machinima.com it didn’t work out very well, so now I’m trying to expedite the process.
I’m not even sure what I can reveal about this situation publicly, but I’m looking for some legal advice regarding my video rights and Machinima.com engaging in what I would call “less than legal” activity that’s affected me personally. I am not looking to go to court over anything, in fact I wish to avoid that if possible, however it’s looking like I might need some sort of legal notice sent to them otherwise it could be months (again) before anything gets done.
Unfortunately I do not have a lot of money, so I would either need some pro bono help or at some sort of discount. Someone who has experience in contract law would probably be best. Anyway, if you think you might be able to help, please contact me at rosswscott@gmail.com.
Everyone else: I’m still working on more videos!
I mean honestly. Why even sign up with these guys if you know the benefits are only short term?
Destiny is the only game on the list that I am interested in, and I don't have to play it on the X-1. Not saying I'm buying a PS4 just to play Destiny, but there is that option.
Right now I'm taking my time and mulling over my next system purchase. It will be awhile before Elder Scrolls VI comes out, so I have plenty of time to decide. My current laptop is almost 5 years old, and I will need to replace it someday.
I just hope it lasts until Elder Scrolls VI comes out.
Destiny, Watch Dogs, and inFamous: Second Son are a few I'm interested in. Hopefully the PS4 will be easier to work on so ES VI will have less bugs than Skyrim on PS3.
I'm just saying, the whole moral of the first five seasons is that we should hate people because we're told to. Yet that's exactly what they did to us with this crew of people and called them evil.
I understand what you're saying when you are annoyed that the focus is going away from the purely gaming demographic, but it's still naive to expect a modern console to only function as a gaming device. Hell, the PS2 had a DVD player. MS will continue to fight for the "hardcore" demographic because there is a lot of money there (less people, but each one buys more games.) However they and Sony will both fight for the casual demographic as well. Neither company has forgotten the roaring success that the Wii was.
Either way I'm feeling more confident in a decision to stick with only a PC, and will probably try to play the Halo campaigns at a friend's house or something (I'm odd in that that's what is most important to me in Halo.) I wish there was a rule that once you switch generations, the old one's games should no longer be exclusive. (I just want to play the Jak and Daxter games again.)
